George had his six week oncologist appointment yesterday. I expected a not so good report since he has been real cranky, tired, chemo diarrhea, etc. but the news was actually pretty good.
It appears the cancer is inactive. Is it still there, well yes, but it isn't growing or moving around and his CEA is down another few points. In November around 20, December around 17 and not sits at 14.1. In 3 years it has never been this low.
In December and early January his blood counts were low he he needed the Neuprogen shots and a Procrit. They were never low enough not to receive treatment though. I attribute his fatigue and cranky attitude to the blood counts and now that they have really come up he is feeling much better.
George had a very stuffy nose which caused some coughing and then he would get his nose bleeding at night. I upped the humidifier on the furnace and at the doctor's suggestion got a warm mist humidifier for the bedroom at night. Well, after one night what a difference, I didn't hear him at all last night and even he said he noticed a big difference.
Thats about it.
Take care - Tina

Good
I've posted many times to this post and it always kicks me out. Trying again. I'm glad that things are better than what thought and hoping it gets better. Nose and bleeding are common but always alarming when you get it. Glad that he is responding to treatment.

Great news!!!!
I am glad that the humidifier is bring George relief, as well.
Here in Holland, we have radiators for our heating. It can get VERY dry, and so we have bought special containers for water that hang from the radiators. The water evaporates from the heat, and it makes a BIG difference...
Dutch hugs, Kathi0
