lymph noces

Hi All !! just checking in. I had ct scan, bloodwork and onc appt all this week. My ca 125 is 19. The onc has been watching two sets of lymph nodes on right and left side. The left side has shrunk. The right side has remained stable for the last 4 months. Onc said nodes were way down by my liver and closer to the back. He said it would be a very hard surgery and would have to have a liver specialist to assist. He is keeping an eye on this and we are doing nothing as of right now. My platelets are way down. I have had 6 txs of carbo/taxol and 3 of taxotere/carbo. I am getting a break for about 6 weeks, so I can rest a bit. Onc wants to do a consolidation therapy for additonal chemo with probably taxol and avastin. I don't have to do weekly bloodwork. I am thankful for the break. Has this occured with anybody else ? Onc mentioned avastin, but I have never used this before. Carlene, didn't you say you had more chemo for an extra year ? I guess thats what Dr means by consolidation therapy. I pray for us all every night. Hope everyone is doing well. Anxious for replies. Thanks Jackie

ca125 19 wtg I am glad you are getting a break enjoy it and pamper your self during that time. Look at it as a vacation from work and do something fun or go some where.

    Pamper yourself
Take advantage of your break to get strong enough for whatever they decide to do in the future. It sounds like your ca125 is good so that is good news. I did six rounds of Avastin after my Carbo/taxol was done. What is your stage? I read that is more effective for stage lll or lv. It was not hard to do but did cause a rise in blood pressure and muscle and joint aches. It does have some serious side effects(not common) but make sure they let you know what they are. I am on it again with (knock on wood) so far no aches or pains so far. Good luck.

    I am a 3c. I forgot to add
I am a 3c. I forgot to add that earlier. I have that wonderful chemo brain thing going on. I have to write down everything so as not to forget. LOL. Anyway my onc says probably another year on a lower dose of taxol plus avastin. I had two normal ca 125. One in Dec was 21, and this month was 19. It took me 9 txs to get it to normal range, but I am happy about where it is. It could come on down a few more points too. The last tx really has kicked my butt. I am extremely tired, and sleep a lot. I don't mean to fall asleep, but I start watching tv or read and next thing you know I am out. Last tx was 12/28/11. I just go with the flow, and just rest. My body knows what it needs I guess. I need some time to build my strength back up. Thanks for the replies.
