Good news arrived via USPS yesterday. My PSA is at <0.1 (undetectable) for the seventh consecutive six-month checkup. I am pleased to share my happy feelings with all of you.

As my buddies at the poker table say, "Your good luck must be because of clean living"!

My hope is that all is well with you also.

Jerry

    Clean Living
Jerry, You nailed it and the bandit is down on the canvas for good.
I wonder what’s behind that “clean living”. Could a shower solve our problem?

I will celebrate with a vintage Porto wine.
    Congratulations.

(note; what is your HT protocol?)

    Loosen up
Hey, Jerry, clean living is for kids. When you're over 60 we should be stepping out and living large! LOL
    Great news on your scores.

    Thank you for sharing
    Jerry,
Wow!!! Thanks for sharing, that is fantastic...seven consecutive six month checkups.
My wish for you is continued zero's. I had radical prostatectomy March 2009 and I have maintained my membership in the Zero Club.

    May God bless you.

Thank all of you for your congratulations
Hearing from you gives me warm feelings. The repeated good news has suprised me; it is almost too good to believe. I continue to be apprehensive that the ugly thing will re-appear again, as it did in 2004. But I am no longer fearful. I am old enough now that I know something will get me within the next 15 years! I am OK with that thought.

I have rambled enough, so I will go on to another thought.

Vasco, you asked about my HT protocol. The only thing that changed three and one-half years ago was the taking away of my testosterone. I went on no diet, I am still overweight--no change. I feel good physically. Mentally, I seem to be about the same. I eat the same food as before. Even my ability to perform sexually did not change appreciably. (In all honesty, it didn't have much zip before the HT. The RP had taken much of it away and the radiation took its toll. But much sexual excitement remains. It feels wonderful to hug my sweetie (my bride of 62 years) That is only part of it--I am not telling the rest.

I refuse to comnplain about it, but I think I was unlucky in getting PC. Now I seem to be lucky in having it quiet down. I'll take it.

Again, I wish all of you the best of luck.

    RP and sex
Jerry, I had my RP in 2009 and sex is only a fond memory. My wife (my bride of 37 years), bless her, told me that we had a great sexual life before the the RP and she is just glad to still have me alive. We still are the same couple and just as much in love as we ever were before the prostate cancer.

Please don't throw in the towel, JR
A pleasant suprise may come your way. For one thing, time can be a healing factor (at least to some extent). Likely you are aware of medical, machanical, and other possible aids. My wife and I have let our bodies and minds develop techniques that allow much sexual pleasure. Send me a private message and I will tell you a few of our "tricks."

I might say a couple of things here. (1) Seeing sexually stimulating things still arouses my feelings of interest. This is true even after I went on hormone therapy. (2) Hugging my wife in bed was never more pleasurable than it is now. A bonus is that I enjoy hugging as long as she wishes. In the good old days, I wanted to turn over and go to sleep soon after experiencing organism. (3) Organism is still attainable even while on HT. Getting to that point requires a little more creativity.

Sorry if I seem to be bragging. Prostate cancer is a bad, bad thing to have to cope with.

Nevertheless, I proclaim that it's great to be alive!

Good to hear from you. Good luck in the days and years ahead.
