Excellent news! What a great way to start "2012".
Thanks to all for all the well wishes!!!
Two doctor visits today. Urologist said things look good, is going to watch cysts on other kidney, believes will be ok, but semed to detect concern in his voice.~~~~~~ Next CT scans will be at the end of April. Then every 6 months hopefully.
ENT visit for sinus infection that still has not completely cleared up. Back on antibiotics and ordered some kind of medicine from California(????????) Just can't get the sinus problem that started all of this to go away.....0 -

Do you know if a cyst can change into cancer?l had them in both before my nephrectomy..mine started in 2004 but was told not to worry..so much for that they missed my cancer in 2010 and did not find it until Dec 2011. Hope you feel better with new sinus meds.
Thanks Doug0 -

Yes - cancerous tumours start life as non-cancerous cysts, but many (most?) cysts remain non-cancerous. Doctors will usually speak of a "lesion", which is a general term, and another vague term - a "mass". Some cysts become huge without ever becoming malign (cancerous) so you don't need to worry so long as your cysts are kept an eye on over the years. Many people have numbers of cysts which are harmless. I'm in the same boat - in the Lone Kidney Club and hoping the cysts on the remaining kidney remain benign.0 -
2nd follow-up CT
Well its one month away till my second follow-up CT's. Feeling good but already anxiously awaiting test.
I have been very honored this month,it being Kidney Cancer Awareness Month, to have had two articles written of my kidney cancer story. The last was in this past Sundays Rockdale and Newton Citizen Newspapers. After seeing the story I was contacted today by a previous acquaintance whose sister has just been diagnosed with kidney cancer and requested that I get in touch with her, which I have already e-mailed her. Hopefully I will be of some help to her and her family. I know that I will be suggesting she become part of our group.
If anyone would like the article written I'll be glad to send them to you.

Hi Robert,
Nice story. I did a Google for Newton Citizen and was able to read it online. Here is the link:

Too bad it wasn't just a simple story about a day in the park with grandpa and the grandkids. I hope your second CT turns out okay and that you can be of help to the lady who has just been diagnosed with kidney cancer.
Regards,
Mike0
