Hey Sal!
I'm good, WE'RE GOOD! Tomorrow is Nick's 4 month anniversary of THE surgery. AND we see the surgeon on Monday to review the 1st follow up CT. My mood has been crud this weekend and I've been a bit short-tempered, so I think I'm getting a touch of scan-xiety Can't wait for Monday to be over and for the news to be nothing but good. Not that I'm expecting anything different, it's just a worry.
Life is pretty normal around our house. I'm SO grateful for that. Some days we even forget how ill Nick was this summer. Thankful for those days. I hope everyone in our "freshman" class is doing so well. (if you wonder what I mean by the "freshman" class, there were 8 of us that went through rads & chemo and surgery within 2 weeks of each other. I believe our results were 6 clean paths, 1 with a positive node, and 1 that had a more advanced cancer than originally believed. Micheal Hopper (our 1) has since passed)
How are YOU? Sometimes life as a caregiver is frustrating. I hated not being able to be "active" and make changes. I'm not good at sitting back and waiting/watching. You need to make sure that you're getting what YOU need. Not just taking care of Dan and his needs. Besides, finding a release for yourself or even just a moment away from it all will make you able to be a better caregiver to Dan.
Tell Dan from us - it's GOOD to be on the other side of surgery. He CAN DO IT!
Love & Hugs from us,
Terry & Nick0 -

So glad to get this update from you Terry, as Sal said.. you are always such a great cheerleader for everyone here. You're entitled to a grouchy mood now and then too.

Terry - Bill was scheduled to have his first follow-up CT scan next week as well. I'm going to put all of the prayer energy I would have had for him into praying that Nick gets a wonderful report! Please keep us posted. Love to you - Kim0 -
Curiousity got the best of me...
Nick has the CT disk for the surgeon and it included the CT tech's notes. I pulled the notes for review and it appears that the esophagus remains clean. Woo Hoo for that!
I've got a bit of worry about a note made on the lungs though. Something about a new 5mm non-calcified pulmonary nodule in the upper right lobe and short term follow-up is recommended. Nick is a smoker (still) so there is always that worry anyway....
We SO appreciate the prayers and good wishes! I'll be sure to update tomorrow night.
Love to you all. And Thank YOU!

Oh Terry:
I would have taken a look also - I would upload the disk if I had the right software. Good deal that the esophagus remains clean!
I know you are worried and I would be too - but you know you have so many prayers from all us - and wish for the best news possible.
Anxiously awaiting results,
Judy & Don0 -

Nothing to worry about!
Doc came in and WOW! You look Great! How much weight have you gained? Everything good? A "new" node was seen by the CT in the your lungs but it's nothing to worry about. I don't believe it's truly new. We'll keep an eye on it. See you in 6 months.
Nick hasn't used the medport since surgery hospitalization, so Doc wants that out if Oncology agrees. Should have it out in February.
WHOOPIE! I can breath again Thank you all for the prayers. It makes a difference!
Love & Hugs from us both

Terry,
So glad to hear that all is well with the test results. It seems like every time I get my scan they always throw something in there that they see that my oncologist says "nothing to worry about". They note everything they see, and let the oncologist decide what needs to be addressed.
Time to celebrate !!!!!

I'm so grateful that we've come this far. I know you're anxious to get the 1st scan over and done. It would be lovely if the doc would walk in immediately following and say "all clear - go home". I hated the wait.
Fingers, toes & eyes crossed that Jeff's 1st scan goes well also.
Learn from my error. If you look at the notes, don't freak. Or don't look at the notes.

Hi Guys....
I love hearing this kind of news. Congratulations and celebrations are in order! I'm waiting the results of my latest CT scan , done today. I'll find out Thursday. But as I am more than two years out I'm much more relaxed than I know you two were. What a great relief for you and the family.
