home care options
Blake sorry to hear the discomfort and inconvenience. US home care can be overwhelming.
There is a time when affordable nursing care "at home" can be more beneficial than "US standard issue". Crossing a border for affordable full time nurses, home blood draws, Skype assisted phone consults to a personal doctor, to me, may beat dragging it in to dr offices or medical facilities, and waiting on home services for everyday items.0 -
Has scar tissue had any influence on your current problems?tanstaafl said:home care options

For me,thats still a potential problem as its close to my ureter .....hope matters improve ASAP......Look at the bright side:at least you don't need a bathroom for everything!!!!!0 -
Dadgum It, Blake...
...I guess I did not realize what you were up against...somewhere along the line I must have missed something. This is truly sobering news to hear from you. I've had to have nurses help me up to get to the bathroom on my own in the past...told 'em I will call you every 2 hours - rain or shine - pain medication or no medication.
That is a big quality of life issue alright - I would have to have someone move in with me, just to pee...I can't even sleep for more than 2 hours and I'm up having to go...doesn't matter if I never drank a drop. If I found myself in your case, it would either be home health care or a catheter.
Mobility is a huge issue and being ambulatory is the key for everything that we do...when we have to concede and get help, we do lose some control over our lives. I hate to hear that this is happening to you. But, if you can get help, that's good news.
I appreciate you taking the time to update everybody...and I do hope that some level of pain control can be achieved while keeping you lucid.
Good thoughts being sent...

Hi Blake,
That sure is lousy that you're going through all this. I wish I had some words of wisdom for you, but all I can say is that I'm thinking of you and just said a prayer for you. Are you in USC's hospital? Just curious.
I hope all works out with the home health care and that you will heal and won't be in need of it for that long.
Take care-

No, I am at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
I think we are going to get what we need, but there are a lot of balls in air at the moment.
Thanks,

Hope that is where you are soon, with everything you need, Blake. Have been off the board a while and was sorry to hear you've had a tough go of it lately.
