Why not treat yourself to something special?
Each one of us should do something special after we join the club.
To each and all; Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Chanuka and Happy Kwanza. Did I leave anybody out?
Bers regards,

I am soooo jealous...
icemantoo,
I love cruises but my wife gets sick the moment you pull away from the dock. We tried it twice and it was the same both times so now we just fly to St, Maarten each year to soak up some sun. Hey, maybe next year you could work on a group rate so all of us can come too, no seriously, have a great trip and enjoy the holidays!!
Happy tenth,

I promise I will not look or stare the day we stop and go to the beach on St. Maarten.

I like the idea of a survivorship cruise. My wife and I did the alaska cruise, awesome, and the carribean one, awesome as well.
We are due for another, so July next year (my 1 year) I am going to plan soething.
I wish the board members, family, and all a happy holiday time.
Icemantoo, thanks for being there for us.... Have fun on your cruise.

Going to get away.
December the 27th I will be getting my 3 month CT scan. On the 30th we leave for Orlando for a week at the Mouse House with daughter and her husband and our Grand-boys. Am really looking forward to the get away. Hoping for good reports from Ct's when we return. Everyone have a very merry Christmas holiday and a happy new year.
PS. Would like to thank everyone at this time for all your prayers and all of your advise and encouragement during my procedures and recovery. They really helped me make it through.

Wonderful idea!!!
That's a GREAT IDEA!!! I'm going to go talk to my husband right now! I'm going to tell him it's what everyone's doing it's part of the new club I joined
Seriously, what a GREAT way to celebrate LIFE!!! I feel so BLESSED right now. Found out I had cancer on September 30th, had my right kidney removed on October 19th. Have only a 1" and a 3" scar to show from that 8cm cancer. Now I'm back to doing all the things I was doing before. That's something to CELEBRATE!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and the HAPPIEST of NEW YEARS to ALL!!!
God Bless

A Carribean cruise is always
A Carribean cruise is always a GREAT idea. Enjoy your vacation. Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year to you and your family! The special thing for me this year is enjoying every single second of all the work and joy that comes along with the holidays. I thank God I'm able to celebrate this year...Thank you for uplifting my spirit and advising to focus on the positive and not dwell on my negative thoughts...You are a great role model, and I truly appreciate your help ~j~0 -
Cruise
We left the day after I found out about my tumor on a seven day to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and loved it. We take about one per year. This one was special, not only for my situation but because my in-laws went, and my Father-in-Law died a few weeks later.
Cruising is a blast. If you have motion sickness issues, get your Dr to prescribe the Scalpomine patch. Just putt on the night before and no problems.0 -
Great idea!
You've got me thinking. My birthday, wedding anniversary and surgery anniversary are all in the same week. My husband has always done a great job making sure we celebrate both my birthday and our anniversary. This July we'll have an extra reason to celebrate - one year of survivorship. I do believe I hear a very lovely trip calling my name...0 -

So to all of you and your families from mine Happy Hoildays and god bless long life and happiness to all.0 -

I'm hoping to get to Myrtle beach in Feb for some golf. May have to bring my motorcycle. March will be a year survivorship for me. Hell, by summer, all I want to do is exercise, golf and ride. What is the saying about having plenty of time to sleep when your dead? Let it catch me if it can.0 -

You sure pushed some buttons there Iceman - I hope you're on commission from the Caribbean tour operators!
I specially liked Neenee3's response:- "That's a GREAT IDEA!!! I'm going to go talk to my husband right now! I'm going to tell him it's what everyone's doing it's part of the new club I joined
It's a bit early for me - only fifth day out of hospital - and, like foxhd, I'm just looking forward to return to exercise and golf and wide open spaces. However, the sentiment is just the same - to make a point of celebrating life and how fortunate we all are and marking it by treating ourselves as Iceman suggests - as usual, Iceman comes up with sound advice.0 -

iceman,
How was the boat ride? Now that the snow is starting to fly I need some warm weather fantasies to get me through until my trip in February, can you help me out?

Life is about living, and planning, and living some more.
The holiday was about squeezing 11 people in 4 generations around the dining table, crumbs on the floor, squeals of delight as the gifts were opened, impromptu drama "shows" scripted by the 7 year old and handed out to several others, and all the other fun stuff.
Happy New Year to all.

Lets us forget about Cancer and our remaining kidney or whatever else is left for a few days.
I just spent 8 days on the Adventure of the Seas joined by my wife, children, daughter in law and 5 grandchildren ages 10 through 15 on our travels between San Juan and Barbados and 5 other Islands in between. Our 12 year old grandson was a natural chaperone for the 4 girls ages 10, 13, 14 and 15 as they roamed the ship each evening finding friends from all over the world. My bucket list includes their 5 weddings starting in a mere 10 or 15 years from now.
Happy New Year to all,

Oh YES - we like that sort of time horizon!!0 -
Love it!
I've talked to my wife about going on a trip for our 25th anniversary this summer. I don't know how we'll pay for it with three kids in college, but I want to find a way. We said we'd go after our youngest finishes college, but that won't be for at least 7 years! I love this survivor trip idea. I'm gonna figure this one out.

Treating myself
I've never had a big desire to travel, although I did see much of Europe and several countries in Asia when I was in the military. Maybe that was enough for me. I enjoyed the one and only cruise my wife and I took back in '74. We were in our 20s then and our main complaint about the cruise was that almost everyone else was in their 60s and 70s. If we took one now, WE would be the old fogies on the ship. My relaxation treats to myself after surgery were a conure named Cosmo, an electric piano and an 82-inch TV (I'm a big movie fan and my HD movies and sports look terrific on it).

WHERE I HAVE BEEN. . .
I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots. Apparently, you
can't go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone. I've also never been
in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there. I have, however, been in
Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made
several trips, thanks to my friends, family and work. I would like to
go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical
activity anymore. I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and
I try not to visit there too often. I've been in Flexible, but only when it
was very important to stand firm. Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there
more often as I'm getting older. One of my favorite places to be is in
Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart!
At my age I need all the stimuli I can get! And, sometimes I think I am in
Vincible but life shows me I am not! I have been in Deepshit many times;
the older I get, the easier it is to get there.
But with all that travel, there is one place I don't ever want to go. I
never want to be in Continent.0 -

It's funny that you pulled this thread up because that was my plan when I got on today. However, after reading your post, I got nothin'.0
