Another Surgery Down

It's never a good sign when the people in pre-op and recovery recognize you, but after four procedures in seven months what can you expect. Removed the hot spot that showed up on my tongue after the last surgery and the six month scans. The doctor took more than he planned, all in an effort to make sure it is all removed. Good thing I have a big tongue.
Only stayed overnight and had some scrambled eggs this morning, two days out. Bothers me that my speech is impacted again, but hopefully that and the massive saliva will reduce soon. I feel like I'm becoming a pro at this. The docs think the surgery is all we will need and no more rads/chemo since the scans were otherwise clean and the tumor was small.

good for you
My speech has been permanently impacted by the surgery I had last year. Funny though, it sounds worse to me than to anyone else. I'm understandable, even on the telephone. But I don't plan on entering American Idol this year.0 -

Marty, that sounds like good news and no more rads is even better news !.... don't worry about your voice.. it always sounds worse to you than to anyone else. Wish you a speedy recovery from your latest round of surgery.0 -
Lol. People at the hospital
Lol. People at the hospital all know me by name, too. One of the doctors was in the same store with me the other day, and recognized me. She was in the Gastro department. She was happy I am at a normal weight.0
