Freeing experience
As Christmas approached I figured we wouldn't get around to doing it that day because I would be too busy to go buy the balloons. To my surprise my cousin and her daughter arrived with five teal balloons. I went around snipping the bands off, making sure I cut right threw the "c" word. I tied them to the strings and we went outside to release them. I shouted, "never come back" as I let the balloons go. (A picture of the balloons is on my page.)
My voice cracked and I was overcome with emotion. I sobbed on my cousin's shoulder and then hugged everyone. Then I said, it's over. My cousin said, yeah it's over.
This was a cathartic experience for me. I hope it helps me to continue to move forward. I want the next year to be about fun, fun, fun.
Thank all of you for your input.
