I Heard....
I heard that he was contacted as a result of that thread...
Not so sure that he wanted to be contacted under the circumstances (fighting cancer and treatment), but he was just the same.
I believe that everyone deals with this in their own way, and for those that know Jim, Jim is dealing with it.
Thoughts and Prayers are extended to Jim and his family. Hopes and prayers for recovery and healing.
Best,

Perhaps, he just wishes for his privacy. At this point, I'm thinking that if he wished to post, he would have. We should respect his privacy. I think of him every day, and wish him the best. So hoping he can beat the beast.0 -

Didn't occur to me that he just didn't have it in him to deal with us at this time (face it - we can be needy, and at some points in life, it's an awful lot to deal with here). Hope Jim's putting all his efforts toward the struggle, and when he's up to it, he'll pop in. Truth be told, I have phases when I avoid the site, and I'm no longer on the front line in the war (thankfully), so someone in the middle of it certainly can't be blamed for not keeping up with us. I think of him often, and am hoping/asking for good things.0 -
Different place
I don't know if he is in a battle with recurrence or not but, if so, I can understand feeling a bit different. Since my husband, Andy, is fighting a recurrence, I sometimes feel like our story may be discouraging to others. Anyhow, I still need the support and also want to give support because I know most everyone will fare well and beat this. We hope to beat this recurrence and I don't want to hide it and act like it doesn't happen. Hopefully, we will be an example of beating this beast again. Thanks for accepting us here under any circumstances!
Sincerely,

Sometimes it's hard to realize that we're still helping others, even when we don't have good news to share. So here's hoping that we don't have to wait long til you DO have good news. I think it's important for anyone else fighting a recurrence to "see" others in the fight.0 -

A breath of fresh air. I need this site and I know that we have been through all of the trials and tribulations of getting through the surgery, chemo, and radiation. Remember it all too well and I hope to encourage others to get through it.. We really are the rare ones to have such a quick recurrence but, not giving up for sure!
My best to you,

Was hoping Jim could share his recent experiences as I now am faced with the options that reoccurance present. Maybe I'll try to PM him. With the spread of SCC to my small intestine (not a real common thing) I await results from Fridays PET comparison to my last pictures on 9-1-11. After the holidays I'll share the options that I have as I continue the battle to be cancer free.
Hope everyone has a Wonderful Christmas, will be leaving for NC tomorrow to see two of our kids and 4 grandkids. Again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Slight Difference
I can understand those going through similar (well actually I can't and I hope never will), but in Jim's case it's a little different I believe.
I don't really remember Jim ever mentioning anyone else as for a caregiver. So I'm not totally sure of his situation.
I'm sure though as all of you, he's in a fight for his life and survival. How he choses to battle his his preference and I honor amd respect that.
I do hope the very best for hm, and really hope and pray for his health, wellbeing and survival.
Jim's case is especially concerning to me. If I remember correctly, Jim's original Dx and Tx was the same as mine and he was a year or do ahead of me.
While I realize that everyone is different, recurrence is still something that is always very much in our minds and fears.
Best,

Hi all:
Glad to hear that we think Jim had been contacted and can certainly understand his wishes not to post or be contacted at this time. Like everyone else I wish he did feel like posting for us; but as good as he was about posting and such a comfort to me and an inspiration I still can understand his silence right now. My hope and prayer is that maybe he still checks in and sees all of our posts and we're being a comfort to him right now. God Bless!

---- With John. I was one of the people who put up a thread several months ago. He was a regular in the past and I think it is safe to say, if he wants to post in the future he will do so.
I think we all are thinking about him and others who usd to be regulars and are not any more.
This goes out for JudyV5 also.

You got that right, Mike - I happened to glance at my "Friends" list here. When I first joined, I got some friend requests and made some. Skiffin is the only person on my list still posting regularly. Wow. My list was small, though - please don't assume the worst. I know for a fact that one of the others is doing fine, just doesn't visit the site any more - hoping the others are doing well, and have just outgrown us. DelNative is on the list.0
