As usual Bill you are soo wise and right on track with the advice. If I knew then what I know now I would have had an endoscopy with my colonoscopy at 50 given my history of severe GERD for my entire life Happy Holidays MegMac0 -

When I was 55 my GI doc said it was time for a colonoscopy, and when I woke up he said he'd figured "as long as we have him on the table anyway..." and he'd done an endoscopy, as well. I'd had GERD for many years, and he found Barretts Esophagus and put me on Omeprazole. Then routine endoscopies every 3 years (that's all the insurance would pay for), and this year: Stage 1a EC. Since then, I've been telling all of my friends to get scoped, even if they have to lie to their doctor and say the have GERD even if they don't. I never had any symptoms (not even a hickup, lol), so if my GI hadn't been agressive and scoped me every 3 years, like so many others the first I'd have known I have EC would have been the day I couldn't swallow and was Stage IV.

GI doc looked down throatmegmacmd said:Hoping for the best
Do hope you get good news and its just GERD or Barrets something treatable. Best ofluck megmac
GI doc looked down throat with light and gently palpated lower and mid abdomen. He said not to be concerned with you know what--said doubtful. He did schedule upper GI scope for 12/23. Was curious that bread and other soft foods were getting stuck at pharynx and not lower. I did see ENT a month ago and he ruled out throat/tonsil cancer0 -
