How was your (or yours) CT scan ordered?

I didn't get any response to my other question on this, so I'll put it another way:
How were your or your loved ones CT scans ordered/or what did the report say it was--a chest CT or a chest and abdomen CT?
Thanks!
Angie

    Hi Angie
Bill's cancer was found during a scope to check on his barrets. The doctor immediately ordered a CT scan that was done in the hospital that day. I think that one was a full body one - or at least to the pelvis (that may be because he had also had a colonoscopy where 2 polyps were found) When we came to M D Anderson (a month later)another CT scan was scheduled for our 3rd day of appointments. That was just a chest and abdomen one.

    CT
    Angie,
for my hubby it said chest/abdomen/pelvis. This is after 4 rounds of chemo.
When first diagnosed he had a head ct and I believe a full body pet.

    CT scans
In my case, the surgeon ordered Abdominal and Pelvic CT scans after he already had the scope and EUS results, but before we met him for the first time.

    Time Frame
After the endoscopy performed by the gastroenterologist on a Tuesday, he sent me to the oncologist on Thursday, who ordered a CT scan for Friday. I was scanned from the top of the head down to the pelvis. After the scan came back, he sent me out for a PET scan/CT scan. Which initially placed me at a Stage IV. Arrrgh. MRIs however showed no mets, so after a CT scan by the radiation oncologist, and an EUS, I was actually staged. It did take from October 11th to actual staging in the first part of December.
