Latest News on George:

We had a visit with the onc this week and the news is fairly good. George feels good, all side effects seem to be well under control, he has gained 7 pounds (patting myself on the back on that one) and his CEA is now 15, the lowest it has been since diagnosed in 3/09. It appears the cancer is under control and somewhat dormant at this time. Its still there but no spread, under control, stable, good CEA is all good news. He is still very fatigued from chemo but handling it pretty well. When checking his lungs the doctor said they sound surprisingly good.

Sorry I have not been on the boards much, hope to change that, but with the sudden unexpeced death of my sister (who was my caregiver throughout this whole cancer journey) and the death of a friend and former coleague of George's who was diagnosed with rectal cancer a year after George and who lost his battle in November at age 48, it has been pretty sad around here. Both deaths were pretty rough on us and difficult.

Well take care everyone.

Tina

    Good
Good to hear that everything is stable and the CEA is going down. Chemo takes awhile to bounce back from so it could even take months and with his adding weight on, this will help him in the long run. So sorry to hear of all the other sad news that has came your way, hope that your 2012 is much brighter.

glad to hear from you. Sounds as if George is doing pretty well. Stable is good and the lower Cea is also good.

I know what you mean about friends and cancer. sometimes when you are involved with so much cancer at home....it's almost as if cancer comes knocking on the door of friends and relatives. Guess this just shows how prevalent it is in society.

Sending you both big warm but snowie hugs.....
