I have been NED and out of treatment since Oct.3rd 2008 My CA was 1960 when first dx. It is now a "5" I get my CA 125 test next week and it is still very stressful.
Merry Christmas to you and all my teal sisters
Thanks for your response. Wow! 1,960? That is up there. My marker has remained at 4 since 2009 (after a couple of treatments). Congrats on being NED for 3 plus years...you are going to hear of GREAT results next week!!!0 -

Congrats! I have been NED since Spring of 2010 (diagnosed in Sept, 2009). My CA125 was 4,000 at diagnosis.

My Mom's CA 125 when she was first diagnosed was 14,301. It seems unbelievable to me now when i read other people's numbers. Unfortunately, the lowest mom's ever got to was 3,628 before it started to climb again.
Still missing her everyday.
Wow, Kelly. I don't think I have heard of a marker that high. I am so sorry. I am sorry for your loss. I pray I never have to endure this beast again.0 -
I too was diagnosed a 3c and
I too was diagnosed a 3c and the highest my ca-125 was a 75. That's not high at all. My last chemo was June 28th of this year. My Dr said the ca-125 is not a good tumor marker for me. I am sure you are the same. I said well then what do you watch? They said the ca-125 and of course we go off the ct-scans and how you feel. I said off how I feel? Isn't ovarian cancer the silent killer?! Somedays I just don't know.0 -

I guess you watch for subtle changes in your digestion/elimination. My CA-125 got into 4 digits before I became symptomatic. It's hard to describe but I think you would know when your body felt different.0 -

on your three plus years of NED. My first CA 125 was 6900 and it went up to over 9000 in the few weeks before I began chemo. It was 1600 before my debulking surgery and 13 post surgery. This was all in 2010. My latest number was 5 and I am due for my next one in January.

Hurray!
So happy for all of you. This is why, even though you are "in remission", that we want to hear your stories. My mom was diagnosed 9/23/11 stage IV ca125 648, down to 48 11/29. Just had debuling surgery last week. I am hoping her numbers will be in the single digit. There is hope! You all are proof!!0 -

Mine was 400+ when I was diagnosed and is now holding steady in the single digits. I just wanted to say if your CA-125 is not a good marker for you, there is a new test called HE-4. Ask your doctor about it.0 -

That was the number when a tumor perforated my bowel on Feb. 16 if this year. I was staged 3 C with the "benefit of a doubt" that the fluid in the bottom third of my lungs contained no cancer cells. After 3 rounds of chemo I was at 42. After debulking surgery May 5, the number was 6. This October, 4.4. We CAN win!!0 -
