I am so sorry to hear this
I am so sorry to hear this is happening to you. Yes, there are other factors that could be detected as hot spots on a PET. I hope this is true in your case. I've just passed my two year mark in remission and your reality is my fear. My cancer spread into my lymph system. I feel like a walking time bomb at times. Time....I try to focus on each good day I have. Hang in there. Vent, rant, rave....this is a good place for this. ((HUGS))0 -
I myself am going thru the exact same thing and havent found anyone else that this has happened to. As of 2/11 it would have been 3 yrs since my cervical cancer and i have been free since then. I have 1 lymph node in left lung that showed up on pet scan and they had to do a biopsy with surgery since it was hard to get to and close to aeorta. Biopsy showed it was my cervical cancer that had returned. Dr said it is not cureable. He is going to treat it aggresively since he has not found it anywhere else in my body. I started radiation and chemo last week. I am praying for a miracle and i hope you get the same!!0

April,
I am so sorry to hear the cancer returned. I hope for the best for you ((HUGS)). What symptoms were you experiencing that made the doc decide on doing a PET? Do you have a good support system?0 -
I went in to have a lithotripsy due to kidney stone and post operatively my o2 level kept dropping to 70's and they could not fiqure out why so a chest xray then ct were done and the ct is what showed enlarged lymph node in left lung and then pet scan confirmed it. Yes i do have a good friend and family support system. Thank you for your reply.beckyracn said:April,

My physicians seem to feel that my lung metastasis is quite curable. They just took it out. I don't understand your doctor's pessimism. Hope things went well!0 -
cervical cancer
Hi Nancy,
I just stumbled upon your post.... It looks like we both share the same level of trauma. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 2b initially but after surgery my doctor found that the cancer had moved up my chain of lymph nodes. I finished my treatment (same as yours) in March of 2008 and am currently approaching my 4th year of remission. It is very scary... all of it but you have come along way baby..keep fighting, never give up! If you get this post I would love to keep in contact with you... my email address is pterrin@hotmail.com
God bless you

Hi my name is Christina, I have recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer. I just wanted to say that that's what bugs me out. When I read some people say that there doctor says it's incurable and then I read others who say they have had surgery. I'm new to all of this and am scared. I have had a hysterectomy and am going for chemo/radiation soon as the cancer wad found microscopically in 3 of my pelvic lymph nodes. My lungs have been bothering me for a week and it's making me nervous. I'm scared it's spreading. I don't see doctor until Tuesday but I'm scared. I am at high risk for recurrence and the shame of it all is I went for all the tests but since my cancer was higher up in the cervix it was missed for about 2 years. I've been having a hard time dealing with all of this and I'm sorry to post all this as a reply. I just want to find a doctor whose willing to fight for me.
