Bath
Do whatever you need to do to get clean! I have a friend that is a breast cancer survivor and has fibromylgia. She loves the sauna. I just like to take a tub bath once in a while. Probably like everything else, check with the doctor to find out if there are any concerns for us (survivors).0 -

Wile in Honduras I did the Natural Hot Spring Sauna Bath with the hot water coming right out of the ground. It is suppose to be full of all kinds of minerals that are good for the body. I did a study on Sauna Baths and found that in the old Roman days that was the only way to take a Bath, they cleaned there body by sweating. I like taking my shower because I fell clean that way, but it was interesting just to see what they did 2000 years ago.
Thanks

Old Achy Bones....
Like you have.....LOL, would feel awesome I'm sure...
OH, I was thinking of my old achy bones.
I love saunas, makes the bones and muscles feel great. When I get some other projects finished on the homefront, I'm wanting to have our large garden style tub removed and a Jacuzzi style tub installed...heater and blowers.
The only saunas that I've been exposed were the dry heat and steam style...they are awesome after a workout...cleaning out the pores and sweating all of those toxins out.
I also like the Eucalyptus oil mixed in with water on the rocks to produce that steam mentioned above.
Best my friend,

I USE A DRY HEAT SAUNA
Hondo, I use a dry heat sauna and spray the hot rocks with water mixed with one cap full of eucalyptus oil. My biggest benefit is when I do my neck stretcheS and work on opening my mouth as far as I can. I truly believe the intense heat loosens up tightened muscle and ligaments making them easier to stretch. I also think there is a huge benefit to a good "massive sweat" and it will get your heart rate up.
I look pretty funny in there stretching and really look strange when I open my mouth and try to push three fingers in to guage how far i am opening. I use the sauna at least 2 and if not 4-5 times a week right after I get done working out.
Lastly, I would advise anyone to consult with their doc's to make sure an intense dry heat sauna is OK for you to use.
Best, and happy sweating.

There is a natural Warm Mineral Springs a short distance from where I live but I have never tried it out. It is promoted for the very reasons you mention. Some say it was the original fountain of youth although Ponce de Leon missed finding it my only a few miles before he was mortally wounded my the Calusa Indians.0 -

If you get a chance try it, every time I go home to Honduras I go every week for one sometime twice a week if I can, I get a deep cleaning and feel so good after.
Thanks

That is good news I am hoping to see if maybe I can get my mouth open just a little more by using it. I know I feel very good after the treatments. In Honduras the very hot water comes right out of the ground and the put Eucalyptus leaves right in the Sauna water, to me it make me breathe so much better.
Heres to happy Sweating, lol

I think both of our old bones could use a little steam to loosing them up a little. Anyway my Wife got me a 3 person Sauna for Christmas and is going to give it to me early. I am hoping it works as good as the one back home, I did get some Eucalyptus oil the last time I was in Tampa at the flee market, what a great place. So if everything goes right I should start Sweating in a few weeks, Ha ha ha. Oh well I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks

I noticed you are
Hi Hondo,
I noticed you are getting one of those 3 person saunas. Is it an infrared sauna? or does it use the hot rocks (those get hotter). Let us know how you make out with it once you use it over the holidays!
Thanks,

They used to liberally apply olive oil to their skin and sweat it all out, and take a flattened stick, and scrape the olive oil off the skin. Not exactly my idea of getting clean.
The Roman baths, in Bath, England were kinda cool. That would be ok. No saunas for me. Tried twice. I passed out both times. I passed out in a hot shower twice. I don't do well when I get hot like that.
When I was in school, I dated two wrestlers, and the would go in the sauna steam bath thing to sweat and lose weight do that they could make weight.0 -

Yes it is an infrared dry heat Sauna, I am uses to the moist type but this was all I could find that I could afford. I will let you know who I do with it as I plan on using it a lot.
PS: Welcome to CSN my friend, glad you found the right place to be.

Sweet you better never go to West Africa, I been there when it was so hot it made a Sauna feel like air condition. :+}).
I hope I don’t lose any more weight, as I don’t have any to spare.
Thanks
