Hello all my friends out there in cyberville, I hope were hanging in there. Now back to ME! This past month has been bad, the wife was in the hospital for poss food poisoning, my FIL passed from liver cancer, and I just got the results for my blood work and x-rays. My blood sugar and Triglycerides are thru the roof and I have to get a MRI for my neck to see how much nerve damage there is from arthur-write-us. Now the good news... My wife is doing better and tonight we drive to the state of O-HI-O for her chemo treatment. I guess that I should not complain but some times you just have to vent. And I am tring to take care of myself but why does it have to be so dang hard at times???

I can hardly wait to see what the weekend has instore...

    Mr. Steve......
I feel your pain and I'm so sorry you are going through this. I mean, O_HI_O is bad enough in itself, whithout all the other suff. Seriously, you have a lot on your plate, but you are stong, I can tell. Don't let that depression cling to tight, even though you have the right to feel way down in the dumps. Take care of yourself. Come back here and shout it to the roof tops, because we are here for you.

    Mr "Good Wife" :)
    Hi Steve,

So sorry to hear about your father in law passing but I am
happy your wife is doing better.

I remember from other posts, your discussion of being a "good wife" :).
I hope you can give yourself a break soon. There's nothing wrong
with asking for some help to give you a respite from the "roller coaster".

I can't vouch for this site, but you might want to check it out:

    Hang in there buddy,

    Complaining
Complaining, venting is good. We all need this outlet at times. Glad your wife is doing better. As I used to say, the roller coaster ride continues. Fay

    So hard
It's hard to take care of yourself - I was lucky that I only had a short haul (about 6 months) so I could just ignore my health. However, it's harder to come back from poor health than it is to avoid it.

I only have one bit of advice, and I have to admit I don't always follow it. Pick one thing to change in your life that will address your biggest problem (like, if you think your blood sugar is your biggest problem, consider taking a 20-minute walk or whatever would be a small increase in exercise). Do that thing for a week. Then add on another change for a week. Repeat.

This way, you are not trying to reform everything overnight, and you give things a chance to become habit before you add another change. I've gone through this process a few times in recent years, to come back from when I've let things slide. I'm doing it now - this week, I'm trying to cut out the I-had-a-hell-of-a-day 5 pm drink. I'll worry about next week's change later. . .

    Tough love u bet
    J,

I've started. Been fighting weight while helping wife fight cancer. Not an excuse mind you but, Oat bran and bannanas for breakfast and plain sandwich and raw veggies for lunch and running to the bathroom for all the water I'm drinking (and also I'm upto 3 miles running 5 days a week)... Man I sure miss hamburgers and fries for lunch... I am shooting for 60 pound weight loss by June 1, 2012

    Tough
GO, Steve, GO! We are all cheering for you . The effort is all uphill, I KNOW, I have a struggle with my weight , too, but you can do it. And if things get you down and you "cheat", with the hamburger and fries, occasionally, don't quit.

Don't get over the whining......do what I do. LET IT FLY! It's good for the soul!. I have to let it out or I'll go beat up my husband and it's not nice to beat up sick people. hahaha Glad you are taking care of yourself. I'm trying to do the same.
