Thanks for the prayers and concern
Any advice on the medication is greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for all the prayers. They have carried us along this latest road.

Does he take a sleeping pill? Mom was not getting much of any sleep until the doc Rx'd Ambien 10 mg. She at least gets some sleep. Last couple of days though her cough just doesn't let up so she's up throughout the night.
He has not been prescribed any sleeping meds yet. Last night he slept fairly well, but it was in the chair all night. But I guess the sleep is a good thing. Again my concern is the swelling in his feet. I have decided that maybe sleeping with his feet up is what is making him so uncomfortable. I will ask hospice about sleeping meds. Thanks!

After dad's surgery, he would change chairs, frequently. At night, he would start out on the bed, go to the couch, move to his recliner. We came up with our own "medical" term so we could find some humor in a worrisome and helpless time...

When I was at my worst pain-wise at night I would wake up every 30-60 min and change chairs or couches. Not fun. Oh yeah, then I would get up and 7:00 and go teach. I was then prescribed Ambien and it works great for me. I now sleep solid for the first 5 hours and then wake up around 4 or 5 more times.0
