Connie is doing very well!

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
Hello Everyone, Just thought I would check in and let you know that Connie is doing great! She had a clean CT scan last week and also did a barrium swallow test and did so well the doctor told her their was no need to see her speech therapist anymore. She is trying to go without tube feeding at this time and see if she can maintain her weight and hopefully gain some. Her chemo treatments started the day after Thanksgiving last year and today here we were having Thanksgiving dinner that she prepared. The biggest difference was I insisted on saying a prayer before dinner to give thanks to God for all he has done for us and ask that he help and protect others. I hope everyone in treatment are getting better and those that are out of treatment are doing Great! I really love and miss you guys and will never forget the kindness and compassion we received here. We will forever be a part of the CSN family, Homer & Connie P.S. One of Connie's girlfriends called today and invited her to Vegas. Airfare paid and the room was complimentary so she is going to have fun for 5 days.

    That is great news.....

    So happy for you both and that you made it through to share manymore Thanksgivings together.

    She have been an awesome caregiver Homer, I know you are very much in love with Connie.

    Congrats on the good news. So glad to hear Connie is feeling so well. She should put some money down in Vegas, maybe she'll be really lucky !~!

    Doing well.
    That is such great news! I have been to Vegas twice, for business. Both trips did not have a lot of down time for doing a lot of fun stuff, but we did manage to have a really great time with the precious little time we had. Five days will be a blast, I'm sure! Enjoy, Connie!!

    Great to get the update with the great news, Homer. Musta been one very special Thanksgiving for you and Connie after the historic past year in your life together. You make a great team, and there's a lotta Thanksgivings you'll share in the future. The best to you two over these Holidays- and congratulations for the clean scan.

    All right Homer! Looks like you two have things going the right direction. I know it's been a long haul, but it looks like luck is on your side. Tell Connie to throw a couple of bucks in the giant slot machine.

    So much to be Thankful for at this time of the years, last week made 9 years for me when we first heard the news of NPC cancer, God is sooo very good.

    I wanted to thank everyone
    I wanted to thank everyone who replied to this post. I want everyone to know that I believe it is very important to check in once in a while to report on Connie's progress. I realize that a lot of the survivors here are struggling with treatment and I hope to encourage them that their is light at the end of the tunnel. Their are also survivors that are fighting recurrences and side effects that continue to make life difficult. Of course, I am very pleased with Connie's progress but she will continue to look over her shoulder and we are grateful that she has been blessed. We pray for everyone here to get well and stay well.
