Cleaning
Oh my goodness with 25 people here (including the grandchildren) we are going to clean tomorrow. Our floor is trashed, holiday decorations are never were they were and going to get my watch fixed. Taking things to church for left overs too. We have our own food depot at church and can leave food there. Oh yeah, have to bring all the breakables back in place now that the grandkids aren't hereHad a great Thanksgiving. We celebrated our grandson's 11th birthday tonight too he was born on this day 11 years ago. Special day for many thanksgivings on many levels.

this weekend
This weekend is "Grey Cup" weekend in Canada (the equivalent of Super Bowl in the States). So we will be watching football on Sunday even though our team isn't in it.0 -

I am working on convincing my husband to go on a small hike with me and the children. Pack some turkey sandwiches and cold beers and have a picnic in the fresh beautiful outdoors. That's the plan at least!

I am usually smart enough not to shop on this day, but money for Christmas is almost non-existent so I stayed up all night to go to Penney's at 4AM and get gifts. Actually went to Walmart about 3 AM(wasn't about to go at 10PM when the sale started). Walmart was practically deserted so I got the super sale items I was looking for. As we were leaving, my husband lost his balance and fell outside the store. He is okay, just sore from falling on his elbow. He wouldn't let me go to Penney's alone, so we forged ahead. Penney's was an absolute Zoo. Hubby waited in the truck. I already knew exactly what I wanted. I picked up the things in about 15 min. and was expecting to stand in line for a long time. But, as I was walking to the registers, a very nice employee in the jewelry dept. asked if she could help me. I told her to find me the shortest line, because hubby was in the truck and wasn't feeling well. She immediately took my clothing items and rang them up right there, so I was done. It was so nice to see a person in that hectic mess that took the time to help another human being. This woman's actions reflect the true spirit of the holidays.
Sorry this was so long, but I thought you all would enjoy hearing a positive story.
Hope all had a great "Turkey Day".

We brought our three
We brought our three daughters to Chicago for the weekend trying to keep our minds off my husbands upcoming surgery. Visited Frank Lloyd Wight's Robie House yesterday, did some shopping, and had a great dinner. Today we are headed to Navy Pier for a parade, more shopping, church, and another great dinner. As I read in someone's post, I am "feeding the faith and starving the fear". Lisa0 -
