Calcium is just one of the vitamins/minerals that are depleted from the body by chemo and the after effects of it. That's hy we need to be on Calcium and vit. D. For me, since chemo, potassium is a problem to keep levels in the normal range without taking mega doses of it daily.0 -

My breast specialist put me on calcium and vitamin D (Citrical +D)since being diagnosed as menopausal. So yes.. I can imagine all the harsh chemo drugs are doing a number on our joints and bones. Jackie I've been following your story with your husband. My love and prayers go out to you for added strength. The care-giver role is never an easy one and my heart aches for your husband. Let him know his pink sisters are here in support.

Question
Has the doctor also put him on fosamax or some other bone builder? Sometimes that stops the mets from taking up as much room in the bones. Definately talk to the nurses or doctors about what kind of calcium to take. Some kinds are easier to absorb and may give results faster than others.0
