Don't Give up!
So happy to hear that the doctors agreed for your "MUM" to have the steroids! This will hopefully help stimulate her appetite. Keep up the positive attitude...and keep fighting... I will continue to keep your "MUM" in my prayers..... I wish you a blessed Thanksgiving...I hope by then some of the new meds have kicked in and she can enjoy some of that good cooking... My best to you as well....don't give up.....!0 -

Please remind your mum to wash her hands often or use hand sanitizer when out & about. Most viruses are spread by hand contact. She is gonna be at risk for picking up some kind of infection especially if she's among crowds of people.0 -

I am so careful on the germs thing to for my mom. I scrub the bathroom almost everyday. I feel like this is where stuff begins. Even the floors. I have hand sanitizer hooked to my daughters bookbag. I wipe handles to sinks and doors. I am a wreck.0 -

Hi,
listening to what you say, it concerns me that in your fearfulness, you may becoming obsessive about the cleaning. Ask her doctor what is the best ways to ensure that she doesn't pick up something. Tell the doctor what you do and the doctor may be able to reassure you about the level of cleanliness that is most appropriate.
Take care ((( )))

Cold & flu viruses are spread by hand contact initially then thru hand to mucous membrane (eyes, nose or mouth). Hand washing is the best way of prevention & avoidance of touching the face. Viruses don't linger on metal or dry surfaces. Nowadays (in the US), children are taught to cough or sneeze into their sleeve rather than cover their mouth with their hands.
I would have mum wear gloves when she was out in public to keep her hands warm & also protected from viruses.0 -

I know she is more vulnerable when she is having chemo. Her white blood cell count is good now due to this rest period. I don't worry as much. I just know how it is when my daughter gets sick. It never seems to go away and i don't think it can hurt if she is picking her nose(yeah, she does it)that i wipe down the handles of stuff. Purely just for cleanliness reasons. I have learned that u never know. I am sorry but there has been so much happening, if anything cleaning handles stress.0
