Mouth Sore Question

I swish 3-6 times a day with baking soda/salt solution, I have a script filled for magic mouth wash, and will be picking up another script for caphosol(sp), mouth and throat are not really too bad at this point, however the rt side of my tongue feels and what I can see like I have a small cancur sore on it. Is there anything by itself that I can put on the sore, a paste made of something , any sugestions. It doesn't bother me yet to eat, drink drink, brush my teeth or gargle with the bioteen products. I would like to take care of it before it gets any worse.
Thanks all,
Linda

Mouth Sore Answer
I experimented with a couple of things such as polygrip mixed with lidocaine and the night time oragel for toothaches but had very little luck except in very specific areas where the concoction could be packed in between two fairly stable structures such as between the lip and gum. I had a couple of blister types of sores however that I was able to drain with a syringe and refill with lidocaine much as the medics used to do with blisters and idodine in the military. The problem with this though was the blisters didn't tend to hurt as bad as the open sores so I was treating the lesser of the two evils.
The magic mouthwash, 1:1:1 or whatever you want to call it was a godsend to me and I was fortunate enough to have a couple of docs that were willing to adjust the recipe for me enough to induce sleep and load up on the numbing agents. I also got bottles of pure lidocaine to swish and spit for when things became intolerable. I still use it now to allow me to eat whatever I want as I am highly sensitive to virtually and all seasonings and spices.0 -
Gel for Mouth Sores
Hi
I was given Solcoseryl to apply directly to the mouth sores. It comes in a gel form and worked like a champ for me. Upon application the mouth sore was immediately numbed and it also helped in getting those little buggers to heal themselves. I got this from my dentist and I think it worked better than anything I got from my regular docs. I also used the baking soda/salt along with the L-Glutamine religiously. Cheers.

Similar feeling
According to my mapping, my IRMT is concentrated on my L tonsil/cheek area spanning in less intensity down my neck, then a lighter general dose on the right side of my neck sparing the R parotid.
I had the same, a canker sore on the left side of my tongue and the area started to get a little sore about 2 weeks into rad, but it never progressed and actually went away. The left side of my throat also started to get sore early on and I was really worried about that getting worse and swallowing problems setting in, but that hasn't worsened either. Either I don't notice it or it has improved. I think our bodies are constantly trying to heal despite the barrage of rad.
Sounds like you are doing everything you can. In terms of healing, how about increasing blood flow to the area by doing various neck, mouth and tongue exercises, and stretching in all different directions. Maintaining the best nutrition you can is good for healing, and remember to moisturize your neck's skin.0
