I'm so sorry to read about your news. Is this mass something that is removable by surgery? I did cisplatin and gemzar for my second line chemo after having a second debulk surgery to remove 3 small tumors. It worked well for me.
Hugs to you,
kathleen
Karen: I am so sorry you didn't get much of a break from chemo. I think the FDA approval for Avastin was revoked ONLY for metastatic breast cancer. You might get Avastin in a clinical trial.
Has your hair grown back much since you were off chemo?
Best wishes to you.0 -

thank you, kathleen for your reply...i will ask on tuesday about a possible 2nd debulking surgery and the cisplatin/gemzar. i just joined this board about a month ago and have found so much comfort and info with all the posts. i didn't know linda p. for long but i read all of her posts. what a courageous girl she was....to share her journey with all of us was a blessing. we are all on that path...she faced it with so much courage and dignity...i hope i can do the same. i tolerated the taxol/carbo fairly well....how did you do with the cisplatin/gemzar?

i plan to ask about a clinical trial. my july catscan showed suspicious spots on my lungs and my onc said then we may have to go on doxil. but my ca125 was stable...i'm sure he's wanted to wait as long as possible to start chemo again. obviously there is no doxil to be had! i just wonder if a clinical trial would have options available that my oncologist doesn't have access to.
as far as my hair.....i just had it cut for the third time yesterday! my 60th birthday is monday, and as a surprise, my two best friends took me to a high end salon for a GOOD cut, color and style. it was nice to forget about all this even if it was for only a few hours.0
