Glad to hear the good news. Is somewhat surprising that the tongue C was missed with her initital care, but we do know such as that can happen. Hope you are as happy as I am, for you and her, that she went to SK for a 2nd opinion. Reckon it is gonna be a special Holiday Season for y'all. We love to hear good news, and do share in your happiness. I do wonder if they mentioned any future scans for 6 months or a year down the road? We have learned to error only on the side of the aggressive for our type of C, Joanna, as the chances for recurrence are higher for us, and the earlier caught the far better result. FYI. Again- this is the very best of news to hear.

Hi Joannaw81,
So glad for you and your Mom! Glad you went for that second opinion, but do stay on top of it as Kent says. God is awesome! God bless you both!
Love & prayers, Patty
of course we will not stop going to the doctor every month for check ups, and she will also have a PET scan done every 6 months, they want to do one in approx.2 months.0 -

Normal protocol for when you are finish treatment to repeat the PET every 6 months or so for the first few years. I pray that your Mom will continue to do well
Take care

Glad to hear all went well.. I was treated at MSK at Basking Ridge by Dr Preeti Parhar and Dr Xiao and they are fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to get the best care anywhere. I am 10 mos out of treatment and FINALLY starting to feel like a human again. The last year has been difficult and sometimes seemed almost too hard to press on. I have been depressed and suicidal at times. I was prescribed Wellbutrin by my doc and feel much better now than in the beginning of September. Everything is going well except the taste..Very slow coming back and different than before, but thats ok because its not what happens to people its how we respond that determines our true character. Its nice to come to a place that everyone knows the crap we have been through. God bless and please excuse me so I can go raid the fridge......Paul0 -
