Tired and achy legs

I had my last chemo on Oct. 25. My legs often just feel tired and achy. I do live upstairs, so I make several trips up and down them stairs several times each day. The exercise of it sure is good for me :) July 4,2009 I broke my left ankle. I had to have surgery on it. Sometimes I wake up during the night with my ankle hurting. Has anyone else experienced new pain from a previously broken bone (following chemo)? I'm just getting frustrated because I still feel tired so often, especially if I've had a busy day/week. Guess I'm expecting too much too soon?

Thanks Ladies,

Carla

I am having problems with past injuries...so I end up reinjuring the old stuff. I have an ankle, that just won't hold up for anything other than gentle use. :( But at least we are not in chemo. :)

True. However, my doctor plans to keep me on Avaistan for maintenance for at least 2 yrs. I sure hope I don't re-injure this ankle. I try to walk at least a mile every day. When I get finished my legs just feel so tired.

    You're not bionic
Your body is made of flesh, bone, and blood, just like the rest of us. You have been poisoned on a regular basis in these last months, with good reason. It takes ANY body time, as in months, to process and recover from the trauma. I had my last chemo on July 6, and I'm not back to anywhere near normal yet. My energy is good, but if I overdo it, the fatigue hits big time. Be gentle with yourself as you heal. I broke a wrist 45 years ago, and believe it or not, arthritis has hit big time in that wrist since chemo. I think any vulnerable place may "complain" after what we've been through.

I thought the port made me
I thought the port made me bionic and the metals in the chemo made me Wolverine. :) You are right, we have to remember what our bodies just went through. I keep having trouble with stamina and fighting off illnesses. I should no longer be immuno suppressed but dang, colds just knock me out for weeks.

My bones ache...I still need to nap or rest a lot.....come on normal or as normal as I am going to get.

    Magnesium
I too have been on avastin for 21 treatments, one of the problems I had early on was cramping legs. As it tuns out avastin more often than not causes below normal magnesium ranges. I take mag in pill form and by infusium, but it has never managed to come up. Maybe take a look at your mag levels. Judy
