Taking platelets tomorrow. Kinda scared.

What should I expect from the platelet transfusion? Any side effects? The NP said other than sleepiness from the Benadryl there are no side effects generally. I like to hear from those who have experienced these things :) Thanks ladies!

    I have had a few platelet transfusions years ago while in the hospital and I don't recall there being any side effects at all. You should be fine.

    You just sleep
    from all the benadryl they give you. You will feel better right away.

    Kathleen, You're not joking
    Kathleen, You're not joking about the Benadryl. They only gave me one tablet, but I slept from about 1:45 till 6:00. :)
