Dad's Endoscopy scheduled for Wednesday
I am going to stay in Ft. Myers with the dogs, while Mom and Dad go up to Tampa. I hope I am making the right decision. Mom and Dad both feel that would be more helpful to them.
So more answers to follow....
Thank you,
Beth

Prayers are with your family, Beth
Know that we are praying for and thinking of your dad as he goes for his scope. Glad you are able to provide peace of mind to your parents as they travel. That can be just as important as being there.
Looking forward to some good updates!

Please keep us posted, Beth! </p>
Just got a call from mom, the blood work done this morning looks great! (They had blood work and fluids here and that way dad was hydrated for the endoscopy tomorrow and they could fax the results up to Tampa so that had them quicker.)
The only thing he can't do is eat. He feels great, but weak, of course. So now we are just waiting for more information and hopefully getting food in his body!
Just hurry up and wait...
On a side note, my dad and I talked last night and I think is very grateful that I have been on this site. Some of his fears and worry about what could be wrong has been eased a little, knowing that what he may be going through is common. He is accepting the stories about the dilation and just waiting for the day where he can respond "GOOD" to our question "how are you today?" AND knows that day will happen because of all the success stories here.
I know that every fight isn't won, and my heart goes out to those who have lost or losing a loved one.

Beth,
I'm glad our parents made it up here to Tampa safe and sound. Tomorrow my hope is that they get answers to why your dad cannot eat. I am glad that you were able to chat with him last night and that here the stories on this site will help give him hope. It took John 7 weeks before he could answer "good" to my question how are you. Please keep us posted on the out come of his testing at Moffitt.

Beth,
Remember, others had many more than that even. If that is all he needs and he gets it done then his eating life will change for the better. Still smaller portions and chew really good but no sensation of it getting stuck unless he eats too much at a meal.
My best wishes,
Jim0
