Week 2

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
Week 2 of rads starts this evening @ 7:30, so far feeling good and eating well, all though I expect from everything I have read on this site that can change on any day.

    Moving Forward...
    Keep moving forward, and stay positive...enjoy what you can while you can.

    It'll all be behind you before you know it, and everything moving forward will be positive in the right direction.

    Take it day by day
    Try your best to put aside what you read and take it as it comes.
    I sometimes think about all the possible side effects only to cause unnecessary worrying.
    They are all "might happens" until you get them, and they are for the most part short term.

    The only longterm given I was told was a dry mouth when all said and done and that's all I'm banking right now.

    For instance, several days ago I developed the sensation of a lump in my throat and it's a little discomforting to swallow. It has now lessened and confined itself higher to the left side (the stronger rad side) and I don't feel it otherwise. It may get worse but the fact that it got a little better means our bodies are constantly fighting back and trying to heal, and if it does worsen, I know my body will attempt to heal itself later.
    So will yours whatever comes your way.

    People will tell you the symptoms they got, others will tell you they never got them or they were minor.

    Keep reminding yourself, as easy or tough as this road gets, it's the road to cure.

    You will get there!

    You are totaly correct, will just wait & see what happens and when, will adjust accordingly.

    I have my last radiation treatment tomorrow morning!!! Besides a dry mouth and taste is gone... life is good. There has been some discomfort, but for what we all are going through, it has gone really well.

    Keep the chin up and a bottle of water handy!

    Congrats....you get your diploma tomorrow.....

    Stay positive and be prepared...

    One thing that takes a little getting over...for several weeks you have been the center of attention. Everyday someone has interacted with you.

    Tomorrow that will pretty much end...you'll still have check-ups and exams, but spread out now over several weeks between.

    Of course if you are like I was, you're gonna see your ENT more than scheduled, because you'll be paranoid..maybe not,I was.

    My ENT is the best, he always squeezed me in and re-ssured me to stay proactive.

    Way to go David, you can do that one standing on your head if needed, Ha ha ha

    Just glad to hears you are at the finish line and tomorrow will cross over. :+)

    Congrats
    Congrats on the last rad David. My sister and neice go with me for every session, they laugh at the waffle marks and then say like tonight only 34 more to go. ...and always water, water every where.
