Thanks for asking, PepeSweetie
Update on my condition:
They never did figure out what kind of cancer I had nor where it originated from. I finished chemo treatments and the tumors were shrunk and zero activity on PET scan, so I was given approval for the liver resection. I had that 8/11 and am healing with no major complications. No "mop-up" chemo or treatments of any sort after surgery. I'm supposed to get CT scans every three months to watch for possible recurrence. Unfortunately, I had to move to a new state and don't qualify for Medicaid here in Oregon...so getting scans may be a problem for awhile. I'm looking into other options for insurance and assistance and a job.
I've had some really bad happenings in my personal life besides the cancer causing upheaval and heartaches, so this past year has been intense to be sure. Right now I'm doing my best to get settled in our new home, find my way around town and try to avoid adding more stress to my life.
It's great to have friends here, as I've not had much opportunity to meet many people in Oregon yet.0 -

For the Medicaid?
My SSD provides $100 too much each month, disqualifying me completely for their Medicaid...they have no spend-down option here for Medicaid. My best option is to get a part-time job so that I can qualify for a low-income insurance that costs $100 per month. I have no idea what that coverage entails but it is better than nothing. After I've been disabled for a total of two years, I'd qualify for Medicaid.
Otherwise, it has been suggested I plea directly to a hospital for financial assistance care.
I'm having a concern regarding healing from the surgery...on the MRI I had a month after surgery it showed a pocket of fluid remaining, which I elected to not have drained on the assumption that it would resolve itself. I've been having pain under the incision at one area that keeps me from wearing clothes that press on that spot, such as a bra. I was told it was likely internal sutures that would take time to dissolve. It has been two months and the pain is still there from that and now I'm having a different pain in a new spot and worry about them both. ~sigh~0 -

I had too had a suture that never dissolved .....and it would flare each and every time I had IV chemo. Took outpatient surgery from a different hospital with "fresh eyes" to remove it.
Sorry that you are having other problems as well. Cancer is hard enough without other trauma/drama in your life.
I am here for you~
