Remember the bread machine?
Well today I dragged my dusty bread machine out of the cabinet put in ingredients for whole wheat bread. I'm anxiously awaiting the result.
I'm at point of my life to use or lose it...and with the price of bread these days, I think that I will be better off.
I'm into hearty soups and with a slice of warm fresh home-made bread what could be better on a cold day (even in Florida)??

Homemade Bread
Does anything smell better than bread baking?
I too recently dug mine out and began making bread....
Yes, the price of bread is through the roof...especially the GOOD kind!
Bake on MaryAnn...
AND if you have any great recipes, share them!

You ladies are on the ball with thinking of yummie warm bread and soup....great idea! I dug my bread machine out a few months ago after someone on this site mentioned how to cut costs and control ingredients in the bread. Bingo! So started a search for recipes and one listed below I tweaked getting rid of a few ingredients such as margarine and white sugar. You can add nuts and dried fruit but haven't tried that option yet. Have to figure out how to add in middle of cycle so the ingredients aren't chopped.
Anyone have soup recipes????
Bon Appetit~~

Funny you brought this up. I was looking for a bread machine. Anyone have any one they like best?
Thanks Jan for the recipe. By the way, I meant to tell you that I like your recent photos!0 -

I had a bread machine sitting in my cupboard for years without using it. I finally gave it away a month ago and finding someone to take it was challenging...now I'm beginning to wish I still had it...but isn't that how it always is. I guess I could make it from scratch...but probably not.
Ladies...enjoy your homemade bread.

Hell yes
My husband bought me one years ago. It's a Panasonic.. I have had it 20 yrs and it's still going strong. I don't use it too often, more so in the cold weather.. I know about cold Mary Ann, I'm in Ohio...I think they are one of the best inventions ever. The bread smells wonderful baking. All you do is read, measure, set. Nothing could be easier and they make fantastic gifts as well.0 -

Well Annie, Thanks for compliment about pix - but I can't figure out how to get it to show up. What am I doing wrong? I just see the old one.
And Cindy, when you talked of "gifts", I thought, "wow, giving bread machines would be pretty expensive!"
Help, my chemo brain is taking over!!!!!0 -
Life is strange and the saga of the bread machines.
Last thing i thought about last night before I drifted off was getting a bread machine and only eating my own bread. Maybe it's group sending esp.
Mary Ann, if you can't see your new photo and we can, just hit the refresh things up on the bar next to where the url is and it should pop up. It is a lovely, lovely photo. Makes me wish I were there.
Love and the holidays are coming, I haven't had a tree for more than four years. This year I fully intend on pulling my little tree that my grand daughter just loves, out of its box and making it the most beautiful little tree we've ever seen.
Oh, joy : ~ )0 -

I went cave tubing with a group of friends in Belize back in '07 - so glad I did as it was just 3 weeks before my cancer was found. Great memories
My bread is hot out of the bread machine, just waiting to enjoy a big slice. Aww, but should I venture out into the chilly (yes, even here in San Diego!) weather for my walk before i enjoy it ???

Tonite is organic egg omelet with lots of vegies, with my turmeric, black pepper and olive oil drizzled in it, and fresh berries topped with almonds for dessert, plus my green tea with fresh lemon...yummie!!!

Thanks Mary Ann! I am sitting here admiring the trees in my back yard and the colors. Then you said bread! I smell it already! What a great suggestion. You are better than antidepressants!

National Homemade Bread Day - November 17th
Just received a message from one of my websites: Chef's Catalog.
They say that today Nov 17th is National Homemade Bread Day. They have receipes and bread machines on sale.
http://ebm.cheetahmail.com/c/tag/hBOxSFzAC3iJUB8ehjPAIkmvK.AJLihcuQ/doc.html?&RAF_TRACK=&email=durhamp@aafes.com&removegroup=
I am sure the receipes can be converted to healthier bread because they do look like normal receipes not healthy ones.0
