It's Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I was last here, and here's a little history. Had my MIE in Dec. of 2010, went well but I had complications, a hole in the part that was sewn togehther. So, I spent 2 monthw in the hospital and another month in a nursing home (rehab). All during that time no eating or drinking anything, lived on TPN.
Now things are a little different, things are getting better. I can eat anything I want too. I usally have no problems with eating. I'm on 2 medications Protonix for acid and Reaglin, which I wonder if I should still be on.
The problems I still have is tring to get a full nights sleep (4 hrs), and my full strength back. I currently have muscle and joint aches and am stiff alot, but not sure what causes these things.
Other than that its great to be here and no complaints.
Thanks for Listening.

So glad you are back!
Great news that you are finally getting better. It sure was an ordeal you went through, but glad you are on the other side of surgery now. It seems to take a long while for the strength to come back. Keep up the good work! Stronger day by day! Linda0 -
I am glad you are on the "recovery" side of surgery
Lee,
It sounds like you had a very difficult time with surgery. I am glad you are on the "feeling better" side now. Finding a good way to sleep was a challenge for me for a while as well. I had been a "side sleeper" all my life and having to sleep on my back in an elevated position was just not working for me. I was using a wedge pillow for elevation and I kept sliding down the pillow and would end up waking up every hour or so.
I finally invested in an adjustable bed. They are a bit pricey but well worth the investment. The adjustable bed allows me to raise my head and my legs (just like a hospital bed) and that allows me to sleep without sliding down. It has really improved my nights sleep.
