NED!!

Hi everyone!! It's been a while since I've had a chance to post. Between trying to heal and chasing kids, I have little freetime...I do however try to get on a read everyone's posts when I have a quiet minute or two. Just wanted to update that as of last week, I have been dancing with NED. Originally after treatment, I had lymph nodes that were still enlarged and my oncologist starting preparing me for the prospect of a neck dissection and handed me a referral to a surgeon. After 2 scopes, a PET, and a CT it was determined that there is no uptake showing in the lymph nodes and the 2 small spots noted in my throat were attributed to treatment related inflammation. YAY!! I'm about 3 1/2 months out from concurrent chemo/radiation and the doctors are saying I tolerated treatment well and am ahead of the curve as far as return to eating. I'm still taking in a majority of the calories in the form of shakes/liquids but have started eating more and more everyday, albeit a few bites at a time. At my follow up appointment last week we talked about my return to work and the doctor said that January 2nd was a "reasonable expectation" for return. I'm excited for the idea that life may be getting closer and closer to the new "normal". I pray daily for everyone on here and my thoughts are with you continuously! Wishing everyone peace and good health!!

Hey, Jamie
That is indeed great news. May NED be your constant companion from now on. I have just had a pretty good day and news like this about a fellow fighter only makes things better. Best hopes and prayers to continue beating this thing and stay with your family.
