erectile dysfunction drugs and head and neck cancer

I googled the ed drug in regard to head and neck cancer and found this VERY interesting so wanted to share the link! I know the study at Johns Hopkins started in 2009 but it does not look like it is ongoing and I can't find any results. They do have current trials with cialis and multiple myeloma so there must be some positive results. BTW...I read that cialis is more effective than viagra because it has a longer drug life...

Best wishes, Robin

    Wow.
My elderly dad has been on one of these drugs to treat his pulmonary hypertension and refractory heart failure for the last couple of years. Maybe I should start it too:)

    Bad news Good news
Doc: Mr. Smith I have some bad news, you have cancer.

Mr. Smith: Doc, what's the good news?

Doc: I will not only cure it but make you a mean, lean, sex machine!

Mr. Smith: Can we start treatment today?

If only I could live another 50 years to see this come true?

    The current status?
    Thanks for posting.
That interesting news report is dated Feb'10 and it said it would be running for a year.
I wonder if the results are published somewhere or the current status of the research.

"Are you excited to see me?"
    "No, I'm fighting H&N cancer"

My husband and I are going to a 5th (yes, 5th) opinion to Johns Hopkins on Nov. 18th and I shall surely ask them about the results of their trial. I know there is one ongoing for multiple myeloma and cialis. Surely, it can't hurt!!! If you find any more information about results please post it. We need to know about all research going on!

My husband is hoping to start a clinical trial called REOvirus. Being done at many centers nationwide and is a Phase III trial. That means he won't know if he gets the trial drug or the placebo. So....we're praying he gets a virus!!!

Complicated journey this is with a metastasis. Whole different ballgame. Still gotta fight and keep those statistics at bay. Anything can happen. Lots of unpredictable behavior in this situation. A tightrope walk between hope and fear.

    Best to all of you,
    Robinleigh

My regional cancer center also has the Reolysin clinical trial for recurring H&N.
It theoretically should work on 2/3 of all human cancers, looks promising and I hope he gets the treatment vs placebo.

And even if he doesn't, it doesn't matter what the stat percentage is, it's not 0%, so everyone has a chance.

I wonder if one day, they'll perfect these modified viruses and they will be mainline treatments.

My prayers are with your husband and you,
    Roger
