I can't pass the "iodine free" blood test to start treatment

I've been on the iodine free diet for 3 weeks now and I'm starting to lose my mind. Not because of the food exactly, but because I did the diet to the best of my ability and I failed my first blood test...the results showing that I'm not even 1/2 way to being iodine free.
I think I figured out what I did wrong...I recently had moles removed because they looked suspicious, and I was putting antibiotic cream on the wounds. I stopped using the cream about a week ago, and re-test in 2 days and hope it's enough.
I need to start my treatment immediately, as I'm moving as soon as it's over and I can't afford to keep paying my medical bills and my rent.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can speed up getting the iodine out of my body?
Drinking lots of water? Sitting in a sauna?
If I fail again, is there any medicine they can give me that flushes out iodine?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would be devastated if treatment got postponed again.
Thanks!

Iodine test?
Wow--I'm not aware that anybody did an iodine test on me before my RAI. I think your questions would be good ones to ask your doctor. It is so difficult to balance life and treatment. Hope things work out for you soon.0 -
test
The only blood work I had before my RAI's was for my TSH levels. Nobody mentioned measuring iodine. Strange especially if you think that some doctors dont push the LID, and there is debate as to how effective it really is.
Definately ask the doctors whats going on...
Hope all works well soon0
