only endoscopy can tell for sure
The thickening of the stomach wall could be an inflammation or some other occurrence. I'm sorry to say that it could be c but do not rush to judgement. No one knows for sure until someone goes in there with a camera. My mom had consistently had the thickening of the stomach wall in her scans but it was stable. Since you can't tell from the ct what exactly it is, we went to the gastroenterologist for an endoscopy. The dr said that it was the tumor and that it had not changed at all in terms of size, since the last time. My mom has since been on her second line chemo and it gobbled up the tumor in the stomach.
I know this must be an anxious time for you and I hope that you get the answers you are looking for, and I hope that it's something that can go away. May I ask, did you have partial stomach removal surgery? I'm just curious in your initial diagnosis.0 -

just got home after spendin 2 more days in hospital with nausea and stomach cramps. they did do the top scope and saw nothing. did send off biopsys but they say it will be couple of wks. the other end is set up to be scoped the 8th of nov. i have been waiting over 7 wks to get them set up as my gastro dr has retired. i have lost 9 lbs in the last 7 wks since this started an m phobic as im sure it must be the cancer back. guess that is proably common lol lol my mom died back in april after 4yr bout with alzieherms an i have continued to go down hill ever since. beginning to think that its most likely due to nerves as that is pretty much what family dr is thinking also. also have severe back problems, rsd, fusions in back and constant pain...i went to the pain patch about 6 wks ago and it has helped thanks god. not stopped it but gave me some relief. the patch scares me to death that im going to get to much but out of options. the dr in er who admitted me said to me when i was being discharged i dont know whey you have that patch on for your back that is" what we hang on people who are dying with cancer" of course that greatly upset me and i should have just blown it off but right now letting things roll of is pretty hard. when i was diagnosed it was just beginning and hadnt gotten out of the stomach so they did 8 chemo treatments and by teh 3rd treatment if was gone...the lord definitly played a large part in taking the cancer away.....i have done realativly well during the last 6 yrs until now and just can get o top of this espicaly the depression..i want control of my life again instead of it having control of me...0 -

Thickening of stomach wall
I had a CT scan which showed thickening of stomach wall. I was given Nexus and Zantac to relieve pain. They helped somewhat to relieve pain, but I still feel a heavy dull ache along midriff. What could this be or are these symptoms of something which cannot be detected by a CT Scan?
