Prayers for Kim Priest's dad Kenny Heburn

Hi,
I am one of the older EC members and I just wanted to post a request for thoughts and prayers for Kenny Heburn who was dx'd and operated on a day before I was in 12/09. He was stage III and had the full esophagectomy if my memory serves right. His daughter Kim Priest wrote on this board often and is a very strong advocate for EC awareness. Well Kenny has not been doing good and has had problems with nodes in his lungs and then severe complications after a lung biopsy. Now on the Caring Bridge for Kenny, Kim has posted that the ulcerations in the digestive area are now showing signs of lung tissue not a good sign. So for all those who still come on the board and remember Kim and her Dad Kenny and anyone else who wants to, please keep Kenny and his family in your prayers. He has been such a fighter and won awards in his hometown for his volunteer firefighting service, it is so hard to hear his struggle must continue on another level. thanks,

Prayers sent
Donna,
We didn't have the pleasure of being around then to know them, but I will put I prayers for them just the same. Thank you for sharing this for all those who did know them and for letting us know that this beast never rests.
God bless,
Eric0 -
Thank you
Donna --
Thanks so much for posting this. I worked with Kim during the efforts to have April declared Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month, an initiative she spearheaded, but I had not been following her father's CB site. They will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for Kim and her dad
Donna,
Thank you so much for posting this. I was just on the ECAN web site a few days ago and saw Kim's name there and wondered how things were going for her dad. I am sorry to hear things have not improved since his last lung surgery.
I will be praying for Kim and Kenny.
Best Regards,

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!0 -
Thank you for the update.
Thank you for the update. Yes, I remember her work towards getting all the states to declare April as EC awareness month. I need to check out ECAN web site and start an awareness campaign here. Maybe we can get a scope as standard screening.0 -
PRAYERS FOR KENNY
I too have not been on board in a long while alot of new ones since Donna and I were so close. I pray every day for Kims dad and pray that things will look up but this beast seems to take the people that have struggled with EC so long
To all you others keep fighting
As our Kitten always said, It is what it is,
Life is not about waiting for a storm to pass but learning how to dance in the rain.
Love you all
