Something that makes my heart ache for many of you on this board is how -- on top of everything else that we cancer survivors have to fight our way through -- you also have the added worry of daughters who now have to answer "yes" to that question: "Do you have a family history of breast cancer?" I can only imagine how that makes a mother feel.
Nancy, is your daughter going for her mammogram because of anything suspicious, or just to be proactive and get her first baseline?

Hope all goes well. Is this because she's found a lump? Because you've got cancer? Isn't 38 early unless there's something suspicious?
My daughter will be 39, 3 small kids. No one has suggested a mammogram to her - yet.

You will certainly have my prayers! My daughter had her first mammogram at 35 because of my history of BC. She's 45 now and I hold my breath every time she goes for another one. I truly understand your concern. Hang in there Mom.
Many Hugs,

To have a baseline due to my bc and now recurrence...my mammo radiologist said to be on the safe side, she should have it done earlier than usual...especially since more and more young women are being diagnosed...
Thank you all for the prayers and support...

Nancy, please have your daughter talk to her doctor about adding MRI to screening. Should be no problem with family history. My daughter gets each annually at 6 month intervals. She is 28.

Here's to a clear mammo!
Suzanne,
Some docs start baseline at 35. With family history, they start 10 years earlier than youngest diagnosis.0 -

Good that she is having mammo early; hoping for clear results for her.

for both your daughter and you. This is something that weighs heavily on my mind too. Though I also want my son to be "aware".
