Yes, Flu Shots are Important
Yes,
Last year had my flu shot after colon cancer surgery during the 3 weeks before I started my 6 months of Folfox. This year just had my flu shot.

I get mine
I got one after resection, before starting chemo in 2009. I got one again last fall when re-starting chemo. I got one 2 weeks ago before starting my third year of chemo.
Getting the flu while on chemo could be very dangerous. The benefits of a flu shot outweigh any risks as far as I am concerned. My oncologist insists on flu shots, but I don't always follow his advice if I do not agree. But I agree with him on this.0 -
Get flu and pneumona shots
I have got the flu shot and pneumonia shots since being dx in 2009. Knock on wood haven't have the flu or a bad cold for that matter since. Good idea to get the shots.

Nope
Seems like when I've gotten the flu shots that's when I'd come down hard with it. My doctor recommends it but really haven't had any problem not getting it.

Hi: I'm getting mine on Tuesday. My doctors recommend them as it would be so easy to get the flu at the cancer centre which is part of the hospital. Had it last year too and didn't have any side effects (during chemo).
