Sorry I've been MIA:
George's CEA continues to come down and has come down another few points and hovers around 18-20, we will take that gladly. The cancer is there, but not very active and I sure hope it stays that way for a while.
On the sad side my sister, who has been our total rock throughout this whole cancer journey, 24/7, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in September. I still can't get overe the fact that she is no longer here. She was my caregiver and I miss her terribly. Her children call me almost daily so besides being strong for George I must be strong for them. They are totally devastated. There were days I could hardly breathe but it is getting better. Death for Barbara took about 3 seconds and it was over.
I'll try to catch up on some posts and sorry I have not been responding.
To those going to Chicago this weekend have a blast and forget about cancer, if only for a few days. I wish I could be there with you.
My friend Paula G. (she used to post, her hubby JR died on 12/31) so many of you will remember sweet Paula, send me this quote I would like to share:
"Hope is the anchor of the soul, the stimulus to action and the incentive to achievement"
Don't ever give up your hope.
Love and hugs to all - Tina

That Answers That.....
Hi Tina
And I just thought you wanted a break from the board....
I'm so sorry about your sister. What a complete shock and I'm not even related. Still the closeness you had for her is evident. How hard that must be for you as the aunt/mom relationship for your nieces and nephews. I can only imagine.
No worries about not posting - "Life sometimes gets in the way." That's another one of my quotes. This place will still be here long after we're all headed the other direction, that much is for certain. You do what you need to do and there's always time to post.
I'm glad to hear from you...I had wondered, almost PMd but didn't want to intrude. I figured you had enough going with your own program.
I'm glad George is doing better. Folfiri was a real whip for me as well, but then all of it was for me, it seems. Tell him 'good job.'

Gee...I am so glad to hear from you. I too thought you were taking a break from the board. I am so sorry to hear about your sis. You have had a lot on your plate. Good news that George is back on track and CEA declining. The trip will be a good thing. I have just completed 2 days of Cyberknife with 2 more to go. It is going good.... just tiring. Hugs to you and George. Take care.

Tina, thanks for checking in. Think about you and George often. I am so glad you are going on a trip. Glad the oncologist gave you some reassurance (he sounds like a good one). A change of scenery will do a lot of good!!
So sorry to hear about your sister passing unexpectantly. Oh my. Praying for you and her family.0 -
I am glad you posted. CPT11
I am glad you posted. CPT11 is a hard one. My husband needed shots to boost up his cell count every other week when he was on it and lost a lot of weight too. But on the upside George's numbers look good, and are going down.
I am sorry to hear about your sister.
You're in my thoughts. Try to enjoy yourself while at the conference.
