CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codesTethys41 said:$$$
I know, money is always the issue. I really wish the medical field was more open to integrative therapies because then maybe insurance would pay for it. It's a whole lot cheaper than chemo. You will need to check with your insurance company. There may be an integrative doctor who is in network for you. I went thorugh a whole lot of paperwork and heart ache over the past 6 months, but I've finally figured out how to get reimbursed for my IV vitamin C. You can ask your insurance company whether your policy will cover the following CMP codes:
96365
96366
96550
A4305
J7050
If it will, you may be able to get some reimbursement for IVs, if you receive them. If your insurance company will cover these and you find a doctor to administer them, I would be happy to explain how to submit claims, if the doctor does not. Also, if you work with an integrative doctor or nurse practitioner (or a naturopath in a state where they are licensed) your supplements are tax deductible.
I did hear that Dr. David Servan-Schreiber recently died of the cancer he had been fighting off and on for years. But, his initial prognosis was 6 months, and he lived for 19 years, and learned how to appreciate a good quality of life in the process. I guess that is all we can really ask for. Good luck with your last chemo. I was dreading mine, and it turned out to be the easiest one of all.

I just want to let you know that what you probably meant to write was "CPT" codes (the codes you need to use in order to get the insurance to pay for your vitamin C treatments)--my smart phone changes words on me all the time and I think that happened in your post.
Do you need to have a diagnosis of "vitamin deficiency" or does the ovarian cancer diagnosis code work for reimbursement of the vitamin C IVs?0 -
Thanks for the correctioncarolenk said:CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes

Robin,
prayers up for ya!
i went to acupuncture for my usual allergy problems, and mentioned chemo brain
the person who did the acupuncture, inserted needles in the scalp, and i could tell
there was a significant improvement with cognitive function, and a lot less fuzziness
with my brain after this treatment
there are other places an acupuncturist can focus on to help you get over the
effects of chemo side effects...i highly recommend it

Prayers
Sometime ago, I read a book called " Be Careful What You Pray For" - something like that - it was all about proving that prayer works. Scientific proof. It was wonderfully life affirming. Prayer DOES work. On lots of levels. My prayers are flying your way to erase all cancer cells in your body FOREVER.

Here is another prayer warrior!
I truly believe in the power of prayer. When I was diagnosed in 2010 I truly believe all the prayers of the people at my church helped to pull me through. I will be praying for you.0 -
last chemo
So how are you doing after you finished your last chemo I am so praying that you never have to have chemo again. I am getting my last taxol/carbo with avastin treatment on Thursday then I will only have the avastin every 21days for about two years. My GYN/ONC wants to keep me on the avastin because he feels that is what put me into remission so early and will keep me in remission. My pray is you are doing well I will check in later to see if you answered.

On my knees!
Hi Robkel,
I just want to say a quick pray for all of us.
I pray that God brings you peace and healing, relief from the side effects and strength that abounds rapidly. Lord I pray that all my sisters who are in the midst of this affliction feel your love and healing wash over them. I pray for peace for us all lord and ask that our doctors and researcher find a cure for this horrid disease. I ask at all who are suffering be healed quickly and are allowed to resume a happy healthful life. In Gods name I pray!
Amen
Love,

I'm Surprise Too!
My oncologist suggested I take calcium, Vit D3, B complex, muti-vitamin with iron. I was told the Vit D was essential to healing. I wouldn't think it would hurt for you to go ahead and get started on some supplements, but you probably need to talk to your doctor about it.
Lord, strengthen Robin's body in this next week as she goes through another treatment. I pray you would allow the chemo to destroy the cancer cells and that you would bring healing to her body. Help her to sense your presence and love and may she use this time to draw closer to you. Amen!0 -

Praying for you Robin. I have 4 more treatments then I will be in your shoes. I am going to see an oncology naturopath to try and rebuild my immune system. I just found out my insurance covers it although I'm sure the supplements won't be covered.
Good luck!0 -
good for you
I'm glad you are nearly done. It will be time to continue to pamper yourself. Think about good organic food!! Tumeric spice is good to add to any food and is cancer fighting!!0
