Fresh Fruits, Vegetables, Grains, Herbs and Nuts that Stimulate the Thyroid
According to The Merck Index 14th Edition 4, the key fresh foods that provide iodine in gently stimulating amounts are those listed below:
fruits – pineapple, coconut, strawberries, rhubarb, mango, dates, apricots, balsam apple
vegetables – Jerusalem artichoke, spinach, potato
grains – oats, buckwheat, lentils
spices – cinnamon, black and white pepper
herbs – fennel, hyssop
nuts - hazelnut
tree leaves – Moringa (Moringa oleifera)

Food database that includes units of iodine
I use this food database to determine if a food has iodine. http://www.fineli.fi/index.php?lang=en
So far in my two annual iodine excretion tests, there has been _no_ noticeable trace of iodine in my urine. Of course, I prepare my own food and I check the database on the items I eat.
I only eat or drink it if it's less or equal to 1.0 µg iodine per 100 grams (that's less than 4 oz of meat or soft drink).
I avoid salt, even non-iodised salt (turns out the database lists non-iodised salt at 5.0 µg iodine per 100 grams!)
You can easily calculate the total amount of iodine consumed daily using this database.0 -

What is an example meal that you are able to eat? It looks like most grains are out (wheat, oats etc), most nuts are out. Do you go all veggie and fruit?0
