day 3 of big road trip with just 2 kids and 2 dogs
just drove 700 km's today and we are camped at fitness first on the gold coast. this is a really top class gym with pool, sauna and spa and usual weights and exercise machines.
we pulled in here tonight in the rain and the kids and i had a lovelly swim and spa. they had a much needed shower as we get a bit rough camping on the roadside without facilities. the portaloo i bought for my reconnection blues is being heavily utilised. its turned out to be indispensable.
the dogs are moby and toby and they were more like sheep. now they are were just clipped. i should say prunes and they now resemble two large poodlw crosses.
its just magic driving and chatting and playing with the kids.
another unforgetable holiday.
hugs,
pete

Enjoy LIfe and experience the Trip with family and furry family
Enjoy LIfe and experience the Trip with family and your furry family members. My husband and I celebrated my NED Scan and took two weeks camping in 4 States and 8 National Parks. It was wonderful. When I have trouble getting back to sleep I just visualize the beautiful settings and relax to return to sleep.
Take lots of pictures, kids grow up very fast and the pictures rekindle those fun times.

just got Home 2500 kilometers in a week
Thanks tommycat and relaxoutdoors.
We all had a great time.
The dogs loved sleeping with us in the campervan.
The kids loved the theme parks and roller coasters.
I loved the scuba Diving expo and getting afew photography awards.
It's nice to see my photos on display.
I watched the kids as we had fish and chips by the river under a lovely old bridge.v
I know these are precious Times, I worried how many adventures I have left with the kids.

Pete,
Congratulations on your Photo Award. Sounds like you are BACK and sometimes this cancer trip can make us take more time for the view, appreciate life, add more to our daily lives, make oneself a better person or even a better photographer.

The photographers curse, to be surrounded by such beauty and tragedy ,everywhere I look see amazing scenes and vistas.
The crc has sharpened my focus. Somehow the imagery I see had translated into my fanatical approach to health and diet.

Pete, you always remind me that I need to live a little. I'm trying so hard to fight this you-know-what, that I forget to have some FUN!! You are a great dad! I wonder what your wife is like....i assume she is very laid back, goes with the flow, not high-strung.0 -

I will get my photos from the trip up on my website www.petertrayhurn.com sooner or later.
pepe made a bit of a whale shark joke , so i put up some shots of whalesharks and me.
back when i was a whaleshark as well. ie as large as a whale shark.
Been side tracked today by another unexpected opportunity. see my post off to ian gawler foundation for 10 days meditation, juicing and who knows.
http://underwaterfestival.org/photos/top-100/
I had 6 shots in the top one hundred, the most of any photographer in the contest. so i am happy with that.
My photos are the bottom 5 and 1 called shrimp with eggs.
getting a few second places is still an achievement i am proud of. i was still disappointed
that i did not win a category or get the best of show award. but their is always another contest and the judges do a hard job. i honestly got over my dissappointment in about 5 minutes and i have not thought about the judging or the results since the contest. which i am more proud of than the photographs is handling life with a bit of style. of course crc helps put all things in perspective.
you know like putting the past in the past, enjoying the now and well worrying about the future when well it arrives.
my kids were the only ones at the awards, so many other fathers but no other kids. i see this often in our society. at least my kids will remember what dad loved to do. this is really something i can tick off my bucket list.

hi janie1,
most of the newbies must just think all i do is walk, but i used to post heaps about all the crazy supplements i am trying to address all the issues i was running into prep/ post surgeries and then of course 6 months with folfox and now in survivorship, whatever that is.
live a little of course, but if you get the chance live alot.
let me say that opposites attract and i would like to think i am laid back. goes with the flow and not high strung. that was me being diplomatic. my wife is a gem, of course a bit challenging at times, but i guess thats what marriage is about.
yours in fun. its so good for us to chat here about the less heavy weight parts of our lives.

Sounds great! I want to do that when I finish chemo. I tried it since I have been on chemo and ended up getting sicker. I felt defeated, but now I realize I just was overambitious during chemo and need to wait and take a fantastic trip with husband and dogs cross-country next year.0 -
