Back pain

in Peritoneal Cancer #1
I have begun to get back pain, particularly when I try to carry things. Even things as light as a few breakfast bowels. Does anyone else have this here, and, if so, any suggestions to help prevent it or to treat it? Happy Thanksgiving to all. :)

    Hi: I, too, get some back pain but then I have arthritis so it is hard to tell. Are you getting the Neulasta injections because some times they can trigger joint pain? Enough calcium? I also have an incisional hernia which can't be fixed yet and without an abdominal belt it drags down my abdomen causing back pain. I'd certainly get it checked out fairly quickly to make sure it isn't cancer spread. Which it likely is not.
    Happy thanksgiving - I ate too much turkey and my stomach isn't too happy today but it was worth it!

    Hi Cheryl...
    Thanks for your suggestions. I see my oncologist next week (hopefully)so I'll ask about the possible spread of he disease and my calcium levels. I'm not sure what the Neulasta injections are so I'm really curious now! :)

    Hi: These are injections one can get 24 hrs after a 5FU pump comes off (or even if you don't have the 5FU pump) to increase white blood cell counts. Chemo lowers mine. The process of increasing white blood cell counts (in the bones) causes bone pain in some people but not with me I guess. Most people just skip chemo because the injections are expensive ($2500/injection in Canada but mine are covered by my university medical plan).
