Great News!!!
Jimbo,
Congratulations!!!! I also completed 18 weeks of chemo after my surgery and I remember well how happy I was to get rid of that pump!! No more having to remember to pick it up every time I got out of bed, no more showering with plastic wrap over the port, no more beeping when the pump got low .....
I really enjoyed my first night of sleep without that thing.
You will be surprised at how much better you will feel in just a couple of days.
Best Regards,

Whoot Whoot! Dance in the shower!
Way to go Jimbo! What a relief huh? I have to say a HUGE KUDOS to you my friend! You have triumphed and come out the other side! I will be there at 7:45 AM in spirit, nodding my head and waving my hands in the victory dance! May you TOTALLY enjoy that shower and maybe even extend that to include a relaxing bath (after the water heater recovers)!
CONGRATULATIONS!
Hugs!

Congrats!!
Jim,
Celebrate today!! My husband had that pump the first time through chemo, he HATED it. One of his best days was when the pump came out, he was on it continuous for 6 weeks. We can understand your joy of losing that appendage! I pray for many clear scans for you!
My husband starts post-op chemo on the 18th of this month, hoping he tolerates it as well as you seem to have.

It's Gone!
I am very happy to report the pump is gone. Although I haven't had my shower yet, I have taken a few minutes to reflect on this milestone. This marks the end of my treatment. Pretty daunting thought. It all came down to this day. Pre-op chemo, let my body almost recover for a month then surgery. Again, let my body almost recover and post-op chemo. This time maybe I can get recovered. My infusion nurse was pumped about it too. She even gave me a hug. I wonder if they all know what an impact they have on our lives? I tried to thank her but shoot, what do you say? Same thing for my entire treatment team. They have given me the best shot at survival possible.
Thank you everyone for your support over the last eight months. It really is amazing how we come to this anonymous forum as strangers and end up becoming so attached to each other.0 -

Congratulations!
I know you are happy to be done with the chemo. I sure remember the pain in the rear wearing that pump was. I'll bet you enjoyed that long shower!
By the way, I'm originally from Ky although I don't live there anymore.
So from one fellow Kentuckian to another--wishing you lots of NED's in your future!
