2 months post radiation

and now it seems like my husband's voice is going away. It was fine during radiation, got a little gravely at the very end of radiation, and it just gets worse and worse every day.
Is that common?
Another question: He has this "tingling" sensation on the skin of his forearms and up his shoulders and on his scalp. He says it's not a headache, but it is a weird tingling type of thing. Is that the L'Hermitts sign or whatever you've been talking about?
More expert advice needed today.
I guess all my posts will show that I was up until 2:30 this a.m. with him, because he was feeling awful, and I had to go to work at 7:15, so I guess I'm running on adrenaline and fear!

    hello there
new to this site only last week. My husband Jim had a laryngectomy last May and had 35 rad treatments. Yes he did get tingly feelings at the back of his neck down his arms and sometimes in his legs. To be honest he still gets this now and again. We have spoken to consultant about it and they checked his bloods for some test or another but it came back clear. I am no expert but I would try not to worry, I am not sure about the L' Hermitts I have never heard of it, therefore cant comment.. Adrenelane and fear? yeah as a wife I have been there on several occassions. Jims voice got weaker and weaker during radiation and also after, bearing in mind that he had his complete voice box removed but had his voice valve fitted. As the weeks progresssed his voice became stronger but he was really quite weak for about 2 months, it was a long slow process and his last treatment was Oct 1st 2010 I would say that it is only in the last few months that he has been feeling pretty normal, well as normal as possible after his traumatic 16 months. Easy to say I know, please try not to worry, dont think too far ahead, it will drive you crazy. Be assured things will improve, good days and bad. Then the good days outweigh the bad, big time! Special thoughts Brenda

    THANK YOU
For helping to ease my mind. I have so much more respect for every person who has ever dealt with cancer. I seriously had no clue what we were in for. Heart disease runs in my family, and I lost a brother when he was 45, my parents, many uncles, etc. I know quite a bit about heart health, but am a real newbie to cancer. I feel the more I learn, the more I know I don't know. Yikes. ANyway, THANK YOU, Brenda!!

    Cancer
Cancer really sucks and it is the gift that keeps on giving. Buzz is still dealing with it a year after we started. He has an abcess in his neck now and is on 6 weeks of IV antibiotics. Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet can be caused by Taxotere (chemo). And Buzz has a numb thigh from chemo as well as the numbness in his hands and feet. Hoping your hubby will start to feel better. Karen
