Is this your first remission?
Yes I was just told I have cancer on June 4th so I did not think that I would hit remission so soon. I have stage four so I thought I would be fighting this a lot longer. I will have to be Advastin for around two years as a maintance chemo and maybe longer but I did not think I would hit remission in just three treatments

Wonderful news! Good for you. Your great news made me feel much better.
I know what you mean every time I would see someone else go into remission it gave me hope that I would make it also. My pray is that every one get into remission and I am always praying for my teal sisters.

So WONDERFUL! So HAPPY for you!antcat said:Dear Anne
I forgot to ask you, what chemo regimen were you on for the 3 months?
Again, congratulations, it's always great to hear good news.
Make the most of it! I was only in remission briefly twice, but the 1st thing I did was get my teeth cleaned and whitened, since I wouldn't do that while I was getting chemo! Weird, huh? You were in chemo such a short time that you probably didn't even miss a 6-month dental appointment! How cool is that??
Next I yanked my money out of savings and went someplace fabulous each remission to celebrate. Please treat yourself to something very special; throw caution to the winds and embrace this happy time! Believe 100% in your restored health and try to not give cancer another thought! (((((Anne)))))0 -

I am not going to think along the lined that I am cured I do expect to have a reacorrence I am hoping not to but I will be prepared if I do. I want to go to the grand canyon but I am on short term disability and have no money left in savings due to the cancer. my first month of treatment I spent over 700 in medication. Now I have to pay for my insurace sence I lost my job and that is 500 1/3 of my short term disability. So no pampering my self during remission. But I am going to live like there is no tomorrow and do what I can to have fun while in remission.
