Checking in
Basketcase checking in. I got back from Destin, FL on Sat. nite after a week with my two closest friends. We had a blast; a lot of fun and sun. Of course, I had an overwhelming welcome Sat. nite when I got in; the boys were more than happy to see Mama. I'll be home for a while now; a couple of weekend trips in Oct. but no major ones. As the saying goes, "Be it ever so humble there's no place like home." My nephew Brian is still in the trauma unit he had been moved to a step down unit but his sodium level has been wacky so they moved him back to the trauma unit. He has the staples from his stomach and head out now; may still have the trach; but does have his eyes open a lot and they're giving him something they give when they start to wake up and it's supposed to help get things going too. They did ask him to wiggle his toes yesterday and he did! I mean this is huge. Yesterday would have been his mom and dad's 41st anniversary and Oct. 16 will be a year since my brother passed away so my sister-in-law is dealing with a lot. She's one tough cookie! Anyway keep the prayers coming; and thanks for all the previous and future prayers and hope everyone is doing well out there! God Bless!

Sounds like you might be ready for some down time with the furry babies. Enjoy! Good to hear your nephew's doing well.
Hi all:
Thanks for the prayers; keep saying extra prayers too please! Talked to my sister-in-law yesterday and Brian has pneumonia again! Sodium is low again. We are certainly baby stepping here. However, they are trying to wean him from the trach and Sunday when his son told he had to go back to school; Brian gave him a thumbs up! Also, his nurse yesterday was messing with him and stuck her tongue out at him and told it's okay stick your tongue out back at me and he did! If we could just get the pneumonia, and sodium straightened out we'd be doing good! But are grateful for the baby steps and just keep on praying. Thanks again. God Bless!

I would love to meet y'all sometime! Actually I did think about checking with you and your wife but I know where Clearwater is and I hadn't been to Destin before and wasn't sure how far it was between the two! Now, keep in mind sometimes I'm geographically challenged and that's why I bought a GPS last year. I named it Charlie Wayne (Wayne was Charlie's middle name and my niece when she was little would call him Charlie Wayne!) However, if you and your wife are ever up Atlanta way, please let me know! I got a good laugh out of your post. God Bless!

Definitely will do Jan...
Destin and Tampa area are pretty far actually (about 450 miles), I was just teasing. LOL, it's almost the same distance to Atlanta from Tampa....
But my wife and I do get up that way on occasion for vacation around Bryson City, NC. I might even be going up that way in a few months for a class at Ringgold I believe, but that's about 100 miles the wrong side....
Glad you are doing well and you're always in my thoughts and prayers.
