MIE??

in Esophageal Cancer #1
Okay, to you old pros this may be a silly question but I don't understand the numbers and letters and what is MIE? My husband is stage IV and that's all I really know.

    MIE
    MIE stands for Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy. Since your husband is Stage 4 he would not be eligible for this surgury Rita.

    Vince had the MIE .Its in lou of the IVOR LEWIS, which I understand,is truly more major and there is a lot more cutting. involved.
