Hats and scarves
4women.com and headcovers.com
The beau scarf at 4women is really nice looking...but a bit expensive. Headcovers carries more than just head wear, like lotions and such.
I'm also starting to sew some of my own scarves with soft cotton lawn fabric. Not that hard and very inexpensive to make. I make my scarves 36" square and usually find nice material at good prices in the remnants section of the fabric stores.
My scalp is very sensitive and usually is covered in a rash or bumps, so scarves and hats are my best friends

Hello MK Thanks forMK_4Dani said:Horses!
Hi Ocalalaurie,
I read your bio and see your pictures. What type of horse riding do you do? I have horses and my daughter Events......I like a nice trail ride.
Great websites you suggested, I purchased items from headcovers.com.

Hello MK Thanks for asking about my horses, as they are very dear to me and I will accept any opportunity to brag on my furry family! We have Percherons, mostly grays. I drive, pleasure and show. Also ride dressage, and of course love to trail ride. Haven't been able to really ride or drive like I used to lately, but whenever I can I'm out in the barn or pasture brushing on them or just spending some good quality time hugging and visiting. They provide me with the best therapy sessions ever!
That is wonderful that your daughter events...how exciting!
I noticed on your profile that you also have had IP treatments. I'm doing IP now, but I have a catheter in place instead of a port. So far I've had 6 treatments. One had to be rescheduled for low counts, and I've had to have the catheter replaced twice, but other than that I've been tolerating it pretty well. It sure was an odd feeling at first to get used to.
I'm glad you asked about my horses, MK Nice diversion

I used this site as purchased 4 scarves and simply fell in love with them. Truly can relate to the worry of how we look without the hair and these scarves added to my personality.
I must say when it came time to wig shop,, I delved in and tried to be creative as well. The wig I purchased was something I could NEVER do with my existing hair, as mine is very thin with a mousey color.
Ladies, enjoy the time without hair, or can I say do the best you can to enjoy being hairless. Even today with my hair back (out of treatments for 2 years) I've learned to truly appreciate any hair.
Hugs,

I wish I had taken the Look Good Feel Better class at the beginning of my hairless days rather than at the end. I tried wearing head scarves but they slid all over my slippery head & looked ridiculous. At the LGFB class, I found out there is some kind of cap to wear UNDER the scarf to keep it from slipping around--by then, I had given up on the whole idea of wearing scarves & just stayed with the wigs.0 -

While in treatment the highlights of my days were to watch my daughter ride her gray mare. My daughter and her trainer took a broken down, (underweight, lame with hoof abscess) OTTB and three years later have a beginner novice level eventer consistly placing top three. This lovely mare has the scope for the upper levels. Check out on www.useventing.com horse search Waiting For Me. My daughter, Dani, is moving up to Novice in October. I believe my daughter, husband, our horses and my Jack Russell got me through my treatments.
I hated the bloated feeling from the IP treatment.

Mary,
That is such a sweet story. congrats to your daughter. The first time I ever fogot that I had been diagnosed with cancer was the first time I could ride my gelding, 8 months after surgery. I had a whole hour and a half of a peaceful mind. My dogs and my horses are my sanity.0
